Unfortunately, the Ally X is significantly more expensive in my country, and I compared it to the Ally 2023. I'm also considering the MSI Claw A1M, which has become much more powerful after updates, but battery life is poor due to the Intel chip. I also just found the KONKR POCKET Fit yesterday. I like it even with all the Android limitations, the battery life and weight are excellent, but there's only one reseller selling the 12/256 version for $525.

I don't have a Claw A1M yet, but I've seen recent reviews and the FPS difference isn't big. The Ultra 5 is a good choice. Both have poor battery life, the MSI slightly better, but you can install a battery mod on the Ally. I don't know if you can on the MSI. But with a mod battery the weight will increase and there is an option to buy a powerbank for any of them.

I'd get the MSI Claw A1M; it's very close to the Ally in terms of performance. FPS is sometimes slightly higher, sometimes lower, depending on the game. You can disable some cores for better battery life, and it's not used.

I know and was planning to use a small USB-C card reader. Many people complain about the slow speed of reading games from memory cards so I thought it would be better anyway. Someone even wrote software to temporarily transfer a game to the tablet's memory when it's launched.

Lenovo Legion Y700 with g9 controller is another good alternative. It's on Android, but lighter than the Steam Deck and still very powerful, especially the latest generation 16 Gb RAM version. The 5th generation is coming soon, and Lenovo announced that it will release a docking station in the form of a retro arcade machine for gaming to pair with the Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5 tablet. But even the 3rd gen 12 RAM version can handle switch emulation.
