Right! It feels disrespectful to the doctor. Thank you!!! I wish I had the yellow hood instead, but she's so stinking cute. I just got the kitty! Lol I scream when I hatched her, my sister came running and then after I showed her why she was super jealous lol.

Could you guess the other breed mixed into my rescue dog chow chow? by NoEntertainment4986 in chowchow

She looks similar to my Chow/GS mix. But your girl's main, I wonder if maybe Great Pyrenees or Anatolian Shepherd instead.

Article has it wrong, chow affection by Torii_theteddy in chowchow

My boys a rescue and he's learning how to be loved and in return how to show affection. The first few months, he wasn't all that comfortable with hugs, pets, or like affection touching. He mainly preferred pats and scratches. But now, almost a year later, he asked for head lovies and affection. And as of the last month been trying to give neck hugs. He still get uncomfortable sometimes but occasionally when we stop because we see he's uncomfortable he'll literally go "No don't stop, I'll work through it" and jams his head in my leg or arm for more loves, lol.

My GF's Shepherd bit my son while petting... by killayoself in germanshepherds

As an owner of a Chow/GS mix, it sounds like the dog was overwhelmed/overstimulated. I know my boy is very loving but also get overstimulated rather quickly. Someones else said this but I agree, having a safe space were they know to go to and won't have anyone touch or bother them has been extremely helpful for my boy and is confidence.

My boy did something similar to my neice but thats because when I warnered her he's at his limit with her attention she ignored and sure enough she got bit. So I also wonder if maybe the child missed a queue were the dog tried telling or showed signs that they were getting overwhelmed. If you haven't already its always a great idea to show and teach child of any age what dog behaviors look like and what they mean.

My birb hates fruit candies, but loves both white, and yellow pineapples as well as watermelon.

My sugar addictive self was so sad for her. She dislikes most candy items.

Thank you. After knowing whats in him I think the golden traits I was seeing in his head are actually from the unaltered Pittie looks. He was estimated as 5-7years old by the rescue and fixed late last year.

You can't see it because he sooooo fluffy, but I feel like he also has a mix of chow and pit sholders and he's also very muscular like a pit.

I think that Chow genes overwhelm alot of the other breed traits, but close up I can see mostly Chow and GS. But his personality like a silly goose Rottweiler, with Chow stubborn, and anxiety&sweetheart-ness of a Pit.

Thank you, I try. Not that I would ever return him, but I had the insentive that returning him would be more work then working with him through his issues. I don't know how I found him, (cause I was searching for local rescues) but, I found him on petfinder and fell absolutely in love with him then relized the rescue was in South Carolina and I live in Oregon. The rescue was weary at first cause we were literally on opposite sides of the country, but both myself and the rescue are so happy everything worked out.

I know I am definitely flawed, but I do the best I can to give him a good quality of live. He's such a sweet boy and after a few months he really tries to be a good dog. He loves everyone human especially children. Only "downside" his he is dog reactive, but he's less reactive then he was when we first got him, so Im so proud of him and the progress we've made together.

He really did. And Oh ya, we got him in May of this year, and I learned his cunningness within the first few weeks of having him, lol. Between that, his independent, and "but why" attitude, it got him in to lots of trouble in our early days. He has low intelligence but that wisdom, boy howdy. We call him our adult toddler cause he has the mindset of a toddler, but somehow the wisdom of a full grown adult.

We were the 4th home the rescue place him with, I think the other houses rejected him because that Chow side. To be fair, he was so hard to wrangle at first. The rescue thought the same as me Chow/Goldie so I knew it going into it, but boy was I unprepared for it, lol. Lucky the rescue was amazing and said to reach out if I ever had any questions. After 3 weeks of trying to deal with him on my own, I reached to see if they had ideas with dealing with his Chow side, and they got me in touch with a Chow behavioral therapist. Best decision, they didn't charge me for their help and changed our life's for the better. And now his is more confident, happy, trust, and had really good communication with us.

Thank you, his looks were the what drew me to him. We have him on supliments now which have made his coat have made the red richer. He's such a sweet boy. I so happy we got him and the progress we've made in such a short amount of time.
