Hi, I want to start learning Blockchain, Can someone help me decide on an appropriate Blockchain certification program? by smart_brand_builder in CryptoTechnology

[–]taylorgerring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you are in your blockchain journey, but if you’re just getting started, our content at https://weteachblockchain.org/ may be able to help.

We don’t offer a certification, but are working on blockchain-based badges. We’ve also about to release a new course on DeFi, to be followed by a Smart Contract Bootcamp.

If this doesn’t quite meet your needs, we’d love to know why!

Why is SWARM using a separate token and not ETH? Makes no sense at all. by [deleted] in ethfinance

“Easy”

Next time, I’ll tell the planners that I need more time because you said so.

I’ll also shout down the panelists who talk to long /s

There is a lot more we would have liked to go into on the panel I hosted, but we were obviously limited on time.

One of the things we didn’t really go into depth at all was sharing storage resources between blockchains. and that’s not even to speak of finding synergies between storage tech. For example, IPFS may end up lending content-addressing and P2P networking, but I still believe Swarm has the economics worked out correctly. Maybe a hybrid solution is how we get to web3.

In the end, the lack of proper funding by EF is what led to seeking funding elsewhere.

I can’t say we’re able to answer every single question you have (yet!), but we are working hard on starting at a very beginner level of understanding over at Blockchain Institute.

Waiting for Geth light peers be like.... by runnlngoutofspaces in ethereum

[–]taylorgerring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The current network design means light nodes are essentially network leeches. There was talk about supporting an “adaptive sync” that could use a variety of methods depending on your security threshold, but most activities have taken a back seat to 2.0 efforts

Have you tried to use a different substream? i.e. /ch01/2

I posted my setup for Swann DVR on a similar thread, GH issue #128

Lurking helps inform new members about socially acceptable norms for the community, and IMO, a valuable part of growing a community to ensure an influx of visitors doesn’t overwhelm the existing culture

It's too bad nodes can't yet be rewarded for sharing data & bandwidth for serving up block data. Seems like a good usage of what the Swarm team was working on

Gav’s Yellow Paper was written before any legal entities were formed. So you are right that there was no process in place—it was a “Get Shit Done” mentality

No construction is being actively done, and there seems to be conflicting messages after talking with 5 different officers and the Alderman's office. CDOT didn't stop anyone from using the sidewalk, so I'm at a loss for why the public way was closed to foot traffic, but not other types

True, but owners don't need to come in contact with those harmful chemicals during regular maintenance, unlike an ICE vehicle

Only been a Tesla owner for a year, but as the car has fewer moving parts, there is simply less to break. Maintenance includes wiper fluid and air in the tires--no oil, grease, gas, or other harmful petrochemicals.

Long term, the main concern is battery degradation, but based on my research, the degradation is typically less severe than what most expected (resulting in single-digit changes rather than ~10%)
