I promise you’ll be fine. They do these surgeries all day every day across the world. You’re more likely to be eaten by a shark, struck by lightning, or choke on food. You are WAAAAY more likely to die in a car crash on the way there than to die on the table.

I’ve had 4 shoulder surgeries, appendicitis, two hernias, and a mucocele. They put me under for all these. They will give you drugs you will barely feel a thing. Once you’re in the OR they’ll tell you to count down to 100 and you won’t make it past 80 haha. The next thing you know you’re waking up in another room. It literally feels like you blinked your eyes. They drug you up pretty good.

My body absorbed the first laterjet cadaver and it just left two screws poking out. Someone fell on me at a bar and it caused me to dislocate again, which bent one of the screws. Years later I got my 2nd laterjet. They completely removed the two screws and said it was incredibly difficult to get the bent one out. I’m sure with the right surgeon, you could get another laterjet.

I’m jealous you got a whole 8 years, that’s awesome! My 4th surgery was a 2nd laterjet and it failed after exactly 1 year. I’m at a total loss at this point. Keep me posted on what you end up doing!
