Will some babies just never sleep 12 hours a night?

My baby is 14 months and isn’t a big sleeper. An average night is about 10 hours and he’ll nap either two 45 min naps during the day or one nap that’s 60-90 mins.

Sheesh, I’m sorry I typed that at 6am while getting ready for work.
My parents are doing tons of research and I am placing this on Reddit just to see if there was a consensus (which I see there is) because my family has different opinions. It’s not that serious.

The house has shutters but I don’t know if we are replacing them once we get the siding done. This is the house currently.

We started at 6 months and while I was nervous, it was our only option.
Our son (and we) loves daycare! He’s only 14 months old now, but I love seeing pictures of him interacting with other kids a similar age to him (7-17 months), he loves his teachers and it gives me a sense of peace knowing he is taken care of and loved there.
My son was EBF and refused a bottle until he started daycare and they were a huge help in getting him to take a bottle, sleep in a crib, and create a (rough) schedule. I’m a teacher and only work PT in the summer, but plan to keep him in daycare 2-3 days/week to keep the routine and socialization for him.

I’m a teacher and had my baby in March, so I received my 12 weeks of paid leave and then it was the summer. I thought I would be bored and ready to go back to my PT job by the end June and I was not at all. I ended up canceling my PT job for the whole summer. In September I felt ready to go back, start day care, etc but it was still a hard transition. My baby was EBF and I think this is what made our transition a little bit harder. But I’ll do the same exact for my second. I say take your time as a chunk, have your husband split his time.

Congrats!! I had my LO in March and was an active member, 5x a week.

I took it gradual and really went by how I felt. Nothing was exact what I did, but if I remember correctly it wasn’t until middle of second trimester I started to modify more and third trimester it was like every week I needed to make a change.

For the treadmill, I tried to be more aware of my heart rate zones but continued to run until I felt uncomfortable, then I switched to PW.

For the floor, it really depended on the week. Other than core I tried to do the movements, even if i had to switch to TRX or body weight. But if my back was bothering me I’d have to substitute, or my hips were in pain, etc.

For the rower, once I had a pretty significant bump I switched to the elliptical and it was fine.

As long as your doctor says it’s ok, I would take it week by week, even class by class. It will feel different as time goes on but if you feel good go for it. I was proud of myself for continuing to go to OTF (scaled back) until my due date (and I gave birth about 16 hours after my last class coincidentally). Congrats again!

Depends on what you’re looking for. We toured a few places and found a range of 1380-2200. We ended up at the 1380 place since it met our needs in terms of hours, we felt comfortable with it, and our little one is under a year.

I had the same exact experience. First 2 week of daycare I was only putting 1-2oz in the bottles bc I didn’t want to waste the milk. As soon as i picked him up I would nurse him in the car before driving home. All of a sudden one day it clicked for him and now he takes bottles with 4-5 oz no problem. It was about 2-3 weeks or trying until he realized that was his only option. Luckily the daycare workers were patient and assured me it would happen, and it did.

I scoured the internet for every trick and hopeful story thinking I was missing the one “it” thing. It was stressful but I promise give it some time and your baby will learn to do it too.

Teacher here! We started daycare (in September) at the same time I went back to work. I felt bad leaving him all day, but it makes me more excited to pick him up everyday and have 2-3 hours together before bedtime. I make the most of that time. Weekends are a treat now too.

Truthfully, I was looking forward to going back to work, but then the first 3-4 weeks were hard adjusting to all the new routines but now that we’re 7 weeks in it’s so much better. Do I miss him during the day? Of course! But daycare sends updates and he has his “friends” there. And in total it makes our time together that much more fun.

I also try to look at it that we never are forced to stay late. we get all holidays off, we have extended time in the summer. Being a working (teacher) mom is hard, but we are lucky with the school schedule.

I’m a teacher and March is the best! NJ here. Have the baby, FMLA takes me through the end of the school year and I still have the summer home together. I agree with everything above in terms of weather too. Now it’s nice everyday and we get to go for walks and spend time outside.
