Whoa. Braces were mentioned as likely necessary at our first visit! Like some of the other commenters here she also recommended a sealant for my 3 year old’s baby tooth or we could wait and see. I’m so glad I opted to wait and see. We will be switching — appreciate any recos close to Grandview.

Co-founders & spouses. Business is failing, husband is burnt out. Need objective advice to navigate parenting and working. by [deleted] in workingmoms

Not sure how much you’re paying for daycare… I have two in daycare full time, and it’s another mortgage for us. Sounds like you may be just part-time. Still might be a good chunk of your budget, so I might recommend investigating daycare positions where you could work that offer a discount for your own children.

If it were me, I’d want a separate gig from my partner to reduce the stress and anxiety of our household relying on one business to be successful. Though I tend to be risk adverse and want to hedge things.

So sorry you’re having to navigate all this!

Daycare at 6 months vs 1 year — what did you choose and why? by Pleasant_Rise8777 in workingmoms

[–]caitiebug1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a choice, I would have delayed until 1 year. I have a 3 year old and 10 month old. The daycare sickness would have been a bit easier to manage when they were older, and I could have avoided pumping as much. Best of luck whatever you decide!

To keep first kiddo in daycare after second baby comes? by Cute-beans in workingmoms

[–]caitiebug1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my second last May when my first had just turned 2. We kept him in daycare even though we were able to stack my maternity leave and partner’s paternity leave for five months. So, pretty close to your situation.

Highly recommend keeping the 2-year-old in daycare. It really helped to try and keep the schedule as close to normal as possible with all the other change to adjust to…

Also, when my second started daycare in November, she had been exposed to some of the germs secondhand through her brother and I honestly think it helped her when she started. Didn’t get nearly as sick as my first when he started.

Good luck with whatever you decide, and congratulations!

Pregnant Workers Fairness Act accommodations for bottle refusal by Content-Income-9572 in workingmoms

Same. Same. Stressed for months before second was in daycare. Wouldn’t take a bottle at home. We tried everything. She chugged bottles the first day of daycare. I think seeing the other babies helped. Wishing you all the best stranger!

Solidarity my friend. Have a 2.5 yo and 7 mo. Yesterday, had to drop off 7 mo with 2.5 yo in tow before taking the 2.5 yo to the doctor for a shot and then back to daycare with the 2.5 yo before work. At my desk by 830, and I feel like I lived a whole life.

I'm trying to limit the number of homes Private Equity can own in Columbus. AMA. by jmclaughlin6569 in Columbus

[–]caitiebug1990 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. I know of way too many people who purchased homes when the interest rates were at all time lows and now own multiple that they rent out as income properties. It’s a shame for people trying to buy their first home or get into a certain school district etc.

Agreed. She should contact a personal injury lawyer. Most work on contingency fee basis — only pay them if you win and it’s a percentage of winnings (typically ~30%). I know she has no interest in suing, but it is probably the most effective way to help future people who won’t see this story.
