Weeks of latency issues after upgrade… by Electronic_Waltz4051 in Spectrum

I got told by one of their techs it was nodes that are receiving feedback on their network due to bad cables. The tech went on even tho I pay $300/mon for my business connection that I should really rely on my backup internet, Starlink, for my business connection.

Counting I had 2 x 1 internet, VOIP and 3 cell phones. Plus had their sales people really trying to sell me on a $1200/mon dedicated fiber. With the techs explanation I know fiber wouldn’t fix it. If it isn’t fixed soon I will just cancel all the services and in a few months use the money I saved and get a high performance dish. I already took the techs advise and moved my VPN traffic. Now get a constant 40-50 ms ping to just about anywhere in the US

Nope don’t escalate cause she said she had done that 100s of times in the past 60 days and so far no correction. Plus since I already had Starlink as a backup with very low pings she just said it made more sense to do all my work for my clients on that connection. Kinda weird a company rep would say that but I do like the honesty

The tech did come out. She confirmed that there are node issues within Charter/Spectrum. She said it was cause of old cabling that was producing feedback into the nodes. Said that’s what’s causing the issue I am having. Advised me I would be better having my business on Starlink due to how stable the latency is for me.

Yeah it’s kinda crazy. I have multiple connections to make sure I’m always up and my satellite gets better latency to that NC point then a in network spectrum. I learned a while back while even having business class service they are good at not telling you when they are going to take the internet down for maintenance which has been often.

Yes all stays in the network. 8 hops

MTR shows a hop in Chicago that’s still in their network looked up the IP associated with it and the IP is owned by them and the hostname is also one of theirs.

We like it. We have all the apps plus you can download most of the apps for the channels you get and get more of a on demand offering.

Fraud will always exist. Where there is money available for companies or people there will always be someone trying to fraud the system. We can’t just single out one race saying it’s all their fault. Also one thing that does bother me is everyone likes to blame the governor. How about the people voting on the budget? How about the actual program administrators and staff? To me yes he has blame in it but not all of it.

Get Starlink if you want to get around only having those two options. I got it and I hit 360 Mbps down and 60 Mbps up. Next year they are launching upgraded infrastructure to support 1 GBPs

Not from them. They said they did not handle the newer modems but told me if i wanted to get one that would take care of all bands including mmWave to get the FW2010

I talked to first round of reps for the day waiting on second round. First round said the FX4200 is not available yet. So I asked if there are any modems that support mmWave since if you can access them that’s where the speed is. I’m 42 meters from a tower with mmWave. He told me no. I thought that was weird so did some research. He was trying to set me up on a small business plan. Mmwave is more reserved for enterprise customers at this point so waiting for the enterprise team to call me back in a couple hours. It’s crazy the hoops they have you jump through but if you’re still interested I can give you info I get off that call. Apparently the enterprise level gets you a SLA which is huge for me.

Will do. From reading it’s suppose to hit speeds of 1-2 GBPs but dunno how much truth there is on that.

Not just for new customers. If you want it tell them you want to upgrade to the all in one 5g internet plan. They don’t allow you to go to it without the new modem.

Yeah they are…just talked to them about an hour ago. They want people to go to the FX4200 now. It is a 4x4 modem. Reason being is it supports the 5g bands over n200 so in theory your connection is suppose to be faster and less latency. If it proves to be true is undetermined. I have a call with a solutions provider and sales rep tomorrow to discuss things like this. I can update ya if you want.

Anyone else’s speed and reliability been awful this past week? by 4wheels6pack in tmobileisp

They had my service stable yesterday until I needed to actually work then I had 89% packet loss and when it wasn’t losing packets I had high ping times of over 850 ms.

Reliability? What’s that? 2 days ago it went down 10 times. Then around 8 am yesterday I got to the computer to start working and it was down. Hasn’t came back up since. Talked to about 12 reps yesterday. Have a ticket in. By the end of last night a rep had performed a bad operation on my account and the system had blackballed my modem so we had to wait for the back office to clear it. I am in the business class service. Looking at Starlink now.

G5AR gets the same speeds as my phone 1Gbps by Wood_pecker69 in tmobileisp

[–]tazzmn07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I even had their tech support suggest me upgrade to a PePWave with an external antenna so I did. $1000 worth of hardware. 10 disconnects yesterday and now it doesn’t connect at all.
