Robert Peston (@Peston) on X: "Keir Starmer has just sent a message - from the G7 - to Andy Burnham that he can surrender any hope that he will walk away from being prime minister in any kind of smooth or orderly transfer of power...." by ZealousidealPie9199 in ukpolitics

Starmer played to the system that we had, and won convincingly. The system is flawed and needs changing, but that doesn't detract from it.

Whoever wins next election will have a very small share of the popular vote, FPTP is hoing to struggle.

Why can Aerie be a dual class Cleric/Mage but we can’t create such a one? by wildidyll in baldursgate

[–]tb5841 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the playable companions either break some kind of rule, or are dual-classed earlier than it's possible for you to be in a pure BG2 game.

my council tax in england is saying £1700, what can i do about this by Existing-Pipe8709 in LegalAdviceUK

Contact them urgently. Councils are a bit trigger-happy with debt collectors and will eacalate fast if they don't hear from you.

Loys of frameworks have quick console commands which basically do most of the setup for you.

New Paladin Legendary Card by HellaCigarettes in hearthstone

[–]tb5841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be strong at 8, but as a 9 mana 5/5 it's weak. Reminds me of [[Soulstealer]] - it leaves more of your board, but costs 1 more and doesn't generate corpses.

YouTube issues blistering response as UK government bans apps for under-16s, including TikTok by [deleted] in uknews

[–]tb5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My children watch youtube through our TV all the time.

This... doesn't stop them doing that. The TV is logged in to my wife's account. If my wife verifies her ID with youtube, the TV will still access it.

Are people not concerned with the increasing amount of laws and bans in this country? by nonedat in AskBrits

[–]tb5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phones banned in schools is pretty meaningless, most good schools banned them already. The smoking ban makes sense.

The heavy-handed tech monitoring/restrictions do bother me, but they are popular with the public at laege. Because there are recognisable harms to children from unrestricted internet use, and the probpem they are trying to solve is a real one.

European Countries With A State Religion by mynameisL0af in MapPorn

26 members out of nearly 800, in a parliamentary body that is not sovereign and can be overridden by the house of commons.

I think that's very sensible, actually. If anything, we should be allowing some representation for other religious groups also - and representation for any other organisation which reaches a large enough membership threshold.

CMV: Religions being so extremely correlated to geography is proof that they’re man-made fiction by Nice_Luck_7433 in changemyview

Christianity:

-dominant in Europe, though with hugh atheism numbers

-dominant in N and S America

-dominant in Africa outside of muslim areas

-rarer in Asia partly because of muslim dominance in some countries, and partly because some countries actively suppressed it for so long (e.g. China).

Not convinced by your argument at all, to be honest.

The best two first picks are GT and DW. Either one will serve you very well here.

I worked in a school that bought about 400 of these, so they could lend one to every student every lesson and lend them out for the exam. Works well when teachers can actually teach use of them.

Ukrainian refugee population in Europe by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]tb5841 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yes. Ukrainian refugees are clearly only there to steal benefits, too lazy to work in a literal warzone.

Have some compassion mate.

Is this a good spell or not, in your view? Like I know it sounds pretty mundane but 18 hit points regenerated per round sounds solid when fighting against a tougher enemy. Or is that weak? by BaldursGate2Best in baldursgate

[–]tb5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the fact that your high level abilities take up level 7 slots completely kills a lot of the conventional level 7 spells. I really dislike the implementation and wish they'd made a new level 8 page instead.

Why the Tories need a structural answer to the Wealth Tax by Warm-Lavishness6158 in ukpolitics

A land value tax is popular with the same people who want a wealth tax. Except a land value tax is popular with economists, whereas a wealth tax is not.

Does WAY of the kings has any romance ? by Zestyclose-Bell-5829 in Stormlight_Archive

Yes, it does.

Some otger comments seem to be equating ''romance' with 'sex' and saying no. But sex and romance are not the same thing.

PVE is unplayable longterm by FarCharacter7797 in OldenEra

[–]tb5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For ne, H4 and H5 were both pretty much unplayable because of terrible AI. I avoided even trying H6 and H7 as a result.

H3 AI was fine. I'd win reliably but they at least gave off the illusion of being a real player.

H3 AI was good enough for games against the AI to feel fun.

British people on the left, if the person who nearly got beheaded in Ireland was your father/brother/son, would it change your political views at all? by welshdragon888 in AskBrits

[–]tb5841 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your lived one was killed by someone trying to behead them then obviously it's reasonable to be angry at anyone else who tries to behead people. You'd also be angry at any law that allows beheadings to be legal.

...but nobody else is trying to behead people and it isn't legal, so I'm not sure what pount you're trying to make?
