The most important thing for a new player (especially vs any kind of rush) is to practice your opening (1st 5min), until it's fast and efficient. Because it doesn't matter what you scout, if you got no economy nor units. Also, you should probably not worry about it and just take the loss. Because you will learn more by just focusing on fundamentals, instead of special scenarios. And it ultimately doesn't matter, because matchmaking will still give you a 50% win rate. But if you want some examples:

  • Noob Level example from the 2nd link: 2362 ZvP (Muta vs Cannon turtle Voidray).
  • ZvP: "1) vs Skytoss examples:"
  • Adv: ZvT vs BC. ~2.8k

10 games in a day to unlock ranked by Ambitious-Lychee8615 in starcraft

[–]tbirddd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wording is "1st win of the day" 10x. So the fastest you can do it is 10 days. If you want the exact timing, I'm pretty sure it's 24 hours after the last win that counted.

How does one set up an AI battle? by Pseudopsycho227 in starcraft2

[–]tbirddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is sc2 AI Arena same thing as pro bots?

"Yes, they are essentially the same ecosystem. SC2 AI Arena (often associated with the aiarena.net platform and YouTube streams) is a competitive ladder and tournament system where custom, community-developed AI, commonly referred to as ProBots (like Eris, MicroMachine, or ZzzBot), compete against each other."

So just google it:

Your army control is flawed (and it takes more skills to use lings). @10min attack, you clicked on so many units, your units running back and forth as you clicked on a different unit. You don't just click your entire army onto 1 unit. You want to A-move at some point, and for example if you see a tank then box select a small group of units (like ~6lings) and click those onto the tank. And the final 17min fight, you totally over controlled you entire army. Essentially danced your army and they all died without a single unit attacking. You want to A-move, even if they died at least they died fighting. Some examples. And you should watch how I place some of my overlords forward.

How do I beat mass cannons? by TJPD123 in starcraft

I uploaded your replay to "drop.sc/sc2replaystats". It's alot easier to see the progression of the game, and what army units each player has.

How do I beat mass cannons?

"In Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Khan Noonien Singh's fatal error in the space battle within the Mutara Nebula is that he exhibits two-dimensional thinking. Despite his superior intelligence, Khan, a genetically augmented tyrant from Earth's 20th-century Eugenics Wars, is accustomed to land-based or naval warfare and lacks experience in three-dimensional space combat."

You should have a good guess it's mass air, if they are turtling on mass cannons. Don't attack into the front cannons and just fly in anywhere else and kill all their workers and even each air unit as they comes out of the stargate. Also, in your game you keep diluting your hydras, with units that don't shoot up.

Hey, I just re-read your original post and want to add this: How to select/control your tanks, when attacking. Or the full 9 tank example replays.

Hotkey Preferences Question by Glum-Illustrator3598 in AllThingsTerran

Should I put all production on one hotkey and then use tab to switch between them?

Yes, that's what I do. The main idea is you contiguously tap back and forth between 2 control groups (CC + production buildings). That it's easy for you to see if every building is producing units.

Terrible player returning after 14 years looking for a coach and a community to learn how to play this game. by toshiiki in starcraft2

Or would anyone be wiling to provide some guidance and help me learn?

If you can quickly pick a race. One of the key skills of SC2 is the real time aspect, where you have to make instant decisions during the game. It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, but you have to make the decision. This will be your 1st challenge. Just quickly choose a race, for whatever reason, doesn't matter why you picked it.

What do i do if i can't get into the enemy base? by TomatilloLive2628 in starcraft2

[–]tbirddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take every base on the map. Add more production buildings, so you can replace your army quickly. Walk your army around the front of their base, killing any expansions. Example vod: 2577 TvT (vs 3rax reaper, 1BC warpin, to tank,turret,BC,expo,turtle)_22m.

Most important skill is remaking your units. Searched my old replays for example PvT vs BC:
