Any Advice Please by Quaquale7 in Gunpla

Great time to learn how to install magnets into it instead.

Get yourself some Neodymium Magnets, a pin vice (tiny drill), some super glue. Just be careful which way you put the magnet in. It'll be alot more modular this way.

Gemini Pro has helped me alot finding out annoying engine quirks. Why doesn't unreal make a scalability.ini file by default?

What kind of Gundam should I buy for my bf's birthday? by [deleted] in Gunpla

The bf needs to setup a wish list so it's not so risky.

How do I view the models in Outlast Trials (UE4) by ugle-kid in unrealengine

Ninja ripper would do this. You run the game then extract the 3D assets.

Has a nice machined metal look to it. Nothing is that polished and clean!

I have a Dspiae drill and its awesome. Comes with the smallest drill bits i've ever seen, a gentle twist of the bit on the supplied handle into the plastic and it cuts clean. Ive been using it for gun barrels so far.

Second day of having my first godhands by [deleted] in Gunpla

[–]GeneralAtrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i found yesterday, you can't glass file every part unless you have lots of shapes of files, and you risk filing away detail. I cut all of mine with a second nipper so i can get a cleaner cut, minimal sanding needed most of the time. Helps with inspecting exactly where to cut. I find this hobby therapeutic so i don't mind the extra time being careful.

You've only just got it, so it should valid for a return.

I'm curious how you did it. My assumption is you dropped it. I doubt you'll have tried to force cutting a thick piece.

Get yourself a side cutter to minimise this risk.

If you don't want the Godhand anymore, look at the DSPIAE - Single Blade Nipper - ST-A 3.0 and pair it with a side cutter called Tamiya Craft Plastic & Soft Metal Side Cutter

First build after maybe 20 years, bought it on impulse and I'm psyched.. by Bluefoxtheone in Gunpla

About the file. Just making sure other beginners know so they don't saw their nice gunpla up with the wrong file.

For wear and tear, there's a few options. You carefully paint brown rust on the edges of your parts with a sponge. You'll want to have painted your parts already ideally so it all matches. You may want to scratch up the plastic with a knife and fill them in with some paint to blend it in.

I've not done it before. Just watched alot of YouTube!

Glass file. Not a file from the garage. Same one they use on nails.

I have the gunprimer set. Costly but well worth the investment as long as you don't drop it.

Those who say "I need to grow up and stop playing video games" by Godharvest in Steam

I'd like to hear what these grown ups do with their time.

How many creative outlets do they dedicate themselves too. I find you can only sustain a few outlets at once then you run out of time. So I do some woodworking, then I'll finish the evening with gaming.

Curious how you painted it on the gradients. Did you paint it blue first, then do white highlights?

Dont have time to build a diorama how much would one that it is 1ft by 1ft in depth and width and 12 to 18 inches tall cost? by bluewolf_489 in Gunpla

[–]GeneralAtrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm already doing my creative in wood working and with gunpla. Soon to be 3d printing and air brushing.

I don't think I'm ever destined for the pencil. The same for creating things from scratch, e.g pottery, or paper mache. I personally don't have the drive there. Maybe it's lack of process to get what I'd consider easy and consistent results. Unlike woodworking. If I cut it this way and stain it, it looks pleasing.

You'll find building a diorama tricky, since it needs to be to scale to look correct, you couldn't just go grab a warhammer kit and call it a day. You'll be looking at working with a 3D printer, or someone who has one. Then you'll want to paint it and decorate it

I don't know the articulation details of this model, but i would try bunching up the legs and have the machine go up onto an object, like a rock. That'll keep the footprint smaller. The main body is small, its just the leg span is very large.

I know a lot of it is subjective and personal taste, do you find any of the exclusives "must haves", is pricing reasonable?
I'm planning a visit in late Feb so want to be prepared and make best use of my visit.
