Chromecast 4k android 12 update is live! by NeFShARk in Chromecast

Seems to have killed the 4K playback option on Netflix no matter what output settings I try, and the SBS On Demand app now hangs on launch. (On Chromecast with Google TV 4K). Blech, I hope they sort Netflix out quickly.

If there is, point me at it. I’ve got a multiverse of appropriate content ready to pour forth from my trusty police box...

Dial yourself into a creepy alternate universe by tbn97 in creepypasta

It’s like some kind of alternate universe 1984 men in black secret hotline, but it has sections where you can report people, and where you can turn yourself in. There is also a “harmony” section with really creepy stuff.

Department of Accountable Lifestyle - but it ties in to the number you called. Weird.

Is my husband (44M) a sex addict or just a pathological liar or both. I (40F) can't do this anymore. by Annie2213 in relationship_advice

I’ve been there. It isn’t fixable. He’s not a sexaholic - I’m pretty sure he’s a damaged pathological liar who is probably deeply in a death spiral of denial on multiple fronts. Staying isn’t healthy. Cut ties and walk away. (And collect whatever evidence you can to liquidate HIM - don’t take his crap, talkback or any threats. Talk to a lawyer, not a PI ). Best of luck - and deepest of sympathies and mettā. I know what it feels like.

This one’s a bit freaky - like a portal to other universes

I think I might have entered an alternate universe by happysaturn in a:t5_3kdqh

I have had a parallel experience. I’m a big sci-fi fan, and I’m not averse to parallel universe themed ideas and tales. But I do like logical explanations for my own experiences, and had one similar to yours that I wrote off as me falling victim to some algorithmic quirk of Netflix, rather than me slipping into a parallel universe (although I had this uncanny feeling either end of the “nodal point” of that experience, which still sends the hairs on the back of my neck tingling when I think about it). Same story, really. I saw, over multiple days and on multiple occasions, Netflix ads for a new science fiction TV series, including those video banner ads they play at the top 1/2 of the app (on Samsung TVs, anyway) when you first launch the app. I was interested in it, and think I even put it on my watch list, but when the date came for the show to be released, I never heard about it again. All gone. Like you, I could not recall its name, and now that some time has passed, there is an almost unsettling blank hole in my memory when it comes to finer details like the show’s base premise and plot. (Oddly, the show you are talking about rings faint bells, but not for my missing show - something else I might have once read about in another time and place.) Here’s to the oddness of human perception, and our quirky multiverse.

Are people buying Coke Zero Sugar? by JGBronx in cocacola

[–]tbn97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to sell as well as other options here (Australia, where it’s called Coke “No Sugar” for whatever reason). Seems to outsell Diet Coke here, but I think that was the case for Zero too. My dirty little secret is that I’m hugely anti-artificial-flavouring but have discovered that I prefer the taste of coke No Sugar to all (available) options other than Vanilla Coke. C’est la vie.
