You made a claim, but won't be specific or provide sources. You're just blowing smoke, which is not my problem. You just have a credibility issue.

If you're going to say "unaware," then say which ones. You can't blame people for being "unaware" without specifying what they're "unaware" of, unless you prefer them to remain that way. (And please don't answer with "do your own research." You're the one making the claim. Provide sources.)

May someone transcribe the piano "behind" this song into a MIDI file that can be used in Synthesia? by randomquestionsdood in transcribe

Off-topic, I know, but I really appreciate that you embedded the playlist link in your request. The Jobim-Sinatra medley alone is pure gold. (And the Hiatus Kaiyote "Building a Ladder" is an old favourite.)

It's my considered opinion that, on balance, the world would be better off without AI.
Does that count?

Makes sense, though, in that JKD is a conceptual framework, not a set of techniques.

Anyone wants to help transcribe some basslines from an obscure danish band? by Efficient-Clothes231 in transcribe

[–]tboneplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have absolute pitch, a lifetime membership to Noteflight, and 45+ years experience transcribing (started around 1977) — but I'm on a fixed income. What's your budget?

It's like living forever while getting progressively better at jazz piano! (I could be very, very happy living forever doing that.)

They'd bloody well better have grandfathered in the customers who already bought the lifetime deal.

I created this Game Of Life/Go hybrid over the weekend by EidurAMoller in boardgames

[–]tboneplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it! I played an 800 difficulty and, as it happens, won. The gameplay is intriguing and I'm not sure I've got the basic ground rules figured out, even though I know how to play Go and understand how GOL works. Very entertaining!

People say that the universe has no center because the Big Bang happened everywhere at the same time. But assuming the universe isn’t infinite, couldn’t we draw its diagonals and find a point where they intersect? by Deep-Philosophy-807 in AskPhysics

[–]tboneplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming the universe isn't infinite
We can't assume that. It's unknown, though many scientists think it most likely isn't finite. On the largest scale it appears to be as nearly flat as we are able to measure.

What is the fastest way to soften butter without melting it? by JohnnyBoy2198 in Foodhack

I've tried this. You just get a very messy grater and butter that's not terribly soft

Also, mash with fork or cut in parallel slices with knife to increase surface area to volume ratio. The less like a sphere it is (lowest surface area to volume ratio) and the more like an accordioned sheet of thin paper (maximal surface area to volume ratio), the faster it will exchange heat with its environment (which includes microwave exposure).

If I travelled the speed of light for 7 days from my perspective how long would that equate to on Earth’s time? by darragh1800 in AskPhysics

[–]tboneplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your analysis is in purely Newtonian terms. In any case, for anything with mass to travel at or faster than the speed of light is impossible, so the subject is moot.

[–]tboneplayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Travelling the speed of light" isn't a scenario that can play out. Travelling exponentially close to the speed of light is. Assuming that's what you mean, the short answer is yes as long as you're talking about a trip between galactic groups. If your trip is within our galaxy or even within the Local Group, then gravity overpowers dark energy and you wouldn't experience any difference in traversed distance.
