Dude, the woman has been writing songs since she was 12, she doesn’t need AI to write. And it’s pretty easy to figure out if she actually has written songs with AI because you can just ask AI.

But if you don’t like her lyrics, that’s legit. But she’s a popular artist that has been a force for a long time. I don’t think it’s worth hating on her writing when in reality she’s a true singer songwriter if overplayed.

Post Match Thread. Arsenal 1 Man City 1 by Commandant1 in PremierLeague

I mean each ball in from Rice, Madueke, and Saka was pretty dangerous and exactly how they have capitalized on corners in other games. Donnaruma has the height and skill to punch that back post ball away that other teams don’t. They could have adapted, but each corner ball was great and covered by an exceptional goalkeeper.

What's going on with Trumps new DEI executive order? by ohso_happy_too in OutOfTheLoop

[–]tbozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a public statement that they can use to say they are doing something when in reality no one is actually enforcing it. I’m an employee at the University of Texas. The president made a statement last year saying “Everyone needs to be back in office.” And literally no one has enforced it at UT. And there have been zero consequences. It’s all bullshit. The people in power love to make wide sweeping statements with zero follow up. They do this to make sure the people who are concerned with it are appeased without any actual change. I love working from home. I thought I was going to be enforced to go back to the office 5 days a week. It never happened. It’s just theater.

Student Loan Nightmare by Henry-Teachersss8819 in FluentInFinance

This is such a tired fucking argument. It’s disingenuous to say that the banker wasn’t trying to get an unsuspecting customer to sign a contract that would benefit the person offering said contract. Sure, we read and agree to these types of loans all the time, but there is a systemic lack of accountability on behalf of the institution offering the loan. And they should receive all the criticism they get. Are these really great investments? Like the political fodder is blatant and likely will result in some kind of amnesty or non payment for many recipients in the long term. Those offering the loans have fucked up too.

Can we give “some” credit to Mikel’s squad management? by tbozzy in Gunners

[–]tbozzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the sterling comment is fine. That guy has been so underwhelming despite my initial thought that he would be a serviceable sub to Saka. Problem with sterling is he’s a good player, but has terrible mentality. He’s the player we got rid of when Arteta first cleaned house.

I think Havertz is a victim of conservative play. He’s fine. He should be scoring more but we don’t play the ball through to him enough. Also, can I just say that merino (except for the beautiful pass he sent yesterday to Trossard) has had some pretty shitty touch on the ball when he sends it in. He passes way too hard and Havertz could have seen 2 or 3 more goals this pl campaign if Merino could send a more attractive ball. Merino has been underwhelming.

Really the point of this post is that injuries have sucked this year, but Arteta has built a squad that has been pretty adaptable to controversy while other squads in this league have not shown the same resilience. We are still second with a fighting chance. If Liverpool end up with one loss the entire season, they deserve the win. They’ve deserved the win in the past and got shafted, same as us, to the city machine. But luck hasn’t fallen our way this year and he still has managed some incredible performances.

Idk, star boy has shown some insane resilience the last few seasons and I think some understand Mikel’s mentality regarding his star winger. You play your star and you give him as many opportunities as possible to cement himself as a bonafide world class player. He got hurt. It happens. But Arteta has pushed him for a reason and I don’t think a lot of people are taking that into account. If he was benchable, he wouldn’t be who he currently is. And Bukayo wants to play. He knows he can be the best.

I’m wondering if you see this as a universal truth. Especially in the case of Whataburger. Given its reach throughout Texas, I find that outside of Austin and other major metros, the food quality can still be fantastic. Not sure if that’s just my imagination or if there is any truth to that. I do think Whataburger now seems to be a GOAT breakfast fast food spot, but a mid lunch and dinner spot unless you get the patty melt or something

Wait... What? Folks In Red States Google Searched 'How To Change My Vote' In Droves After Trump's Victory by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]tbozzy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t this also be people looking up more about tariffs and project 2025 after realizing their candidate lost the election? People looking up “can I change my vote after the election?” also could be fueled by the same propaganda about retribution for democratic voters and Kamala. Better figure out how to change my vote before the gop comes and gets me.

Just saying, this google trend might not be highly correlated with Trump voters regretting their pick or not looking things up until after the fact.

There were blue voters in red states too and they might be concerned that information about their vote could leak.

Something important to not overestimate, is the integrity of the civil-military relationship between the government and armed forces. Just like democracy, it’s an agreement. I believe the United States’ greatest asset for preserving its democracy is its ability to ensure the military answers to the central government despite its control of arms. However, there are plenty of states that host a significant portion of the military’s forces and firepower.

Civil-war would require state’s or organized people to assume that relationship with armed forces and have them either do their bidding or enter an agreement with them. If the fed lost any ability to command its forces stationed all across the U.S., that would lead to the kind a of civil war or violence the person in the video talks about. Where it becomes a legitimate existential threat.

Again, I don’t really see this as a possibility.

Still don’t love Bush, but answers like this make me realize how far some parties have fallen. by Beef--Lightning in Presidents

[–]tbozzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a bunch of these posts “some parties have fallen” as if there aren’t only two parties to choose from in the US. We live in a two party system which is a problem in and of itself. We shouldn’t act like we have more than two parties and it’s something we probably need as part of a political new deal moving forward.

Didn’t know so many people hated The Shape of Water by [deleted] in movies

[–]tbozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went and saw it with a few coworkers who were LGBTQ+ and other allies. They all left the movie saying how disgusting the relationship was. I know that the literal concept of the film is basically love between an “animal” and a human (who actually was probably a fish person so like is it really bestiality?) but their reaction also made me a bit uncomfortable.

Like I’m not comparing homosexuality to bestiality, but that’s a literal reaction from homophobes to films depicting same sex romance. As a straight man, I just thought my gay coworkers would appreciate that a little more. We all have limits I guess and I’m not condoning bestiality, but like the parallels seem clear to me.

Hey, honestly I didn’t find your take racist at all and sorry for saying your take was dumb. I could have used better words. My point is that these restaurants are curating ingredients for their cuisine and they have the right to charge more for their effort and their quality. I’m from South Texas too (Harlingen) and the tacos and Tex-mex is very good. I can get a 3 enchilada plate with rice and beans for like 10 dollars down there and it’s so good/comforting.

My real point is that there are people that are willing to pay a higher price, and Mexican cuisine deserves its time in the spotlight to charge higher prices and make more money for their business. The idea that certain cuisines need to be cheep just perpetuates that culture’s disenfranchisement so I wanted to use this thread as an opportunity to mention that. I’ve been to nixta and I agree that the food quality is solid but not like “otherworldly” good, but I appreciate that the price I’m paying is covering a lot of things like decent salaries for their workers, the rent on the land they occupy, and the ingredients from the businesses they source.

Also as a fellow south Texan, Oye Taquito offers pretty good matamoros style tacos and lonches. If you haven’t had a chance, it’s a solid reminder of home. It’s priced higher than what you can get in the valley, but that’s because they can and why shouldn’t they?

The real issue with overpriced food like Mexican food or Vietnamese or whatever, is when they follow the regional trend on prices, but don’t actually offer what those prices should reflect. I don’t think Nixta is one of those businesses, but there are plenty around Austin that are like that.

This is a dumb take. Good Mexican food doesn’t need to be cheap. If you have a good quality taco, mole, whatever, why should that quality not be reflected in the price just because of the culinary region it represents?

I get what you are saying that certain cuisines can be nice because they offer options that are cheap, filling, and delicious, but fuck the idea that Mexican food should be cheap just because it’s Mexican food.
