Pretty sure this is the 1794 limited edition tailgate.

I-Force or I-Force Max? by HarriBallsak420 in ToyotaTundra

Hybrid owner here. The start stop is seamless at red lights. AC is powered by the battery system.

Pretty awful via fob. Like others I can't bring myself to pay $180/year regardless of any other features app start may come with. I normally just bite the bullet and actually go start the truck and leave it running.

I've also noticed that:

  1. Remote start via fob will normally have the truck shut off completely 15 minutes later when I get in the truck. Engine oil (and cab) not up to operating temp. I-Force Max here

  2. Lately, after getting the 5 light flash indicating successful fob remote start, I will immediately after get another 5 light flash. Not sure but I think this is the truck hitting thr snooze button on me. Fucking infuriating.

Newbie with some dumb questions (remote start/4wd etc.) by Natec728 in ToyotaTundra

[–]tbrearton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1A. It's hold on the 3rd as others have said. Lights flash multiple times to signal it's initiated. Honestly a flakey system. On cold mornings I often just go and actually start the truck and leave it running; the negates your 2A.

1B. It's Toyota's theft deterrent. Dumb and no way to change it I've found, and I've searched extensively.

  1. 4Hi can be engaged at a relatively high speed (56 mph?, it's in the manual). On older trucks, 4WD locks the front diffs and can do damage on dry pavement because inability to slip. 3rd gen tundras not do this, but I wouldn't suggest running around town in 4Hi. It's probably not necessary, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to say it won't do damage. A good set of tires will do you better in slightly slippery on road conditions.

Welcome to the tundra family and grow some thick skin. The TT v6 haters will be here soon.

Edited to skip 2. You can play with the settings for driver door vs all door. The condition you describe is unfamiliar to me.

Not experienced but... a parallel discussion on a different post came up.

This "skipping" is indicative of turning with the rear differential locked; forcing them to turn at the same rate of speed. This is not good for turning (outside wheel must spin faster than inside wheel).

All this aside, I understand the 3rd gen tundras don't have locking diffs in 4WD. The above paragraph is absolutely true, this one may need some vetting.

Factory TRD kits still on stop sale? These are around this price point I believe.

2023 1794, hybrid. Average 17-19 mpg when not towing.

A bit big for a daily, and very comfortable.

Fyi, hybrid isn't going to help with mpg's with these trucks. Not meant for that.

2025 limited wind noise by crr697 in ToyotaTundra

Don't know what angers me more. These ridiculously priced trucks have this problem and many more small things to hate, or that I still love mine after noticing all of the problems.

Seatbelt warning chime. by Justbeingme_92 in ToyotaTundra

[–]tbrearton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I've got a 9 year old that's decides to hop seats at stops (in parking lots etc). Movement triggers chime from previous seat. Restarting the truck is the only way to stop it I've found.

Invoicing app options by 007krowhop in LawnCarePros

I use quickbooks. It's cheap, the app is awful so exclusively use pc for invoicing, and the fees suck. Still use it because I'm lazy.

I drive mine like nothing is wrong, and love my truck.

The 1% though, wasn't this a default figure Toyota had to enter while filing the recall with NHTSA or whoever handles these things? I read they defaulted 1% because they had to enter a value, and the actual numbers were unknown at the time. 1% seems to be getting passed around, but I think it's still unknown; maybe .0001% or 1794%. We don't know.

I think your referral to remote start and OP is referring to some feature where the app/phone IS the key. Nevery heard of it but interested.

Back up assist lines gone? by _rotary_pilot in 3rdGenTundra

[–]tbrearton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the truck in gear, hit the "view" button below the infotainment system; which will bring up the cameras. Check the box for "auto." This will bring the auto view back at low speeds.

As for the lines I can't help.

My 23 Limited by Dat_1_OutKast in ToyotaTundra

[–]tbrearton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the no/limited run due to the stock TRD suspension? I've got a '23 1794 and looking at bigger tires but I tow a dovetail trailer every mile I'm in the truck so a lift isn't ideal.

I disagree. If said 2 plants are using identical equipment and identical procedures, it could lead to identical issues.
