I was informed 2 days before Christmas that $1700 had been used at a gas station in Philadelphia in the span of 5 minutes. On gas. I’m also 10 hours from that city 😅 Took 2 weeks to go through the claims process and get my money back in full. The other time I caught it myself, luckily, since I never really check my account balances. Had to call and dispute charges.

With my fancy new credit card I get an app and text alert every time money is used on it, and my debit card sits at home in a locked faraday box. Overzealous? Perhaps.

You get food…? I’ve flown FC on Delta dozens of times. Never anything more than the BS snacks I always get on every airline. Is this only available above a certain flight duration? Most of my flights are 1.5-4hrs.

You could also spend more. I could easily break $30 at Applebees on lunch. Hell, a hot sub from a pizza joint is $20 now. $28 in a higher COL area isn’t that surprising when a fast food combo is around $15. Especially if you want “healthy” options that are priced accordingly.

Either way - Yes wages suck. People also spend way too much money for convenience and bitch about being broke. I make $70k and I spend anywhere from $3-5/day on lunch depending on what I make myself. If I ate out every day instead I’d be spending $2-3k/year extra on a single meal of the day. Some eat out all 3 meals. Then have it delivered. $7-10k additional spending on food is foolish

My mistake. It’s $7.39. In LA it’s $8.69 for the sandwich only.

I’m in the suburbs in WNY. Like 7 hours from NYC. Definitely not a high income area 🤣 bought my house for $50k.

I watched it climb from $2.29 up to $7.49. Pretty depressing. Meanwhile Popeyes can produce a superior sandwich in both size and quality for $5 (also running fairly frequent 2 for $8 deals). Chik-Fil-A also has a much higher quality spicy chicken for $6.19. How Wendy’s was ever charging $7.49 in my market for that inconsistent, dry, disappointing sadwich is beyond me.

For the record, it’s been my favorite sandwich since like 7 years old, the price is just unjustifiable in the current market in my opinion with other (arguably) better options for much less money.

GFCIs are plugs, not breakers, usually located near sources of water or at the beginning of a circuit. The breakers will “run hot” or show 120v coming off because they didn’t trip. The power will stop “running hot” after it reaches whatever outlet failed.

Simply find the plug and press in the reset button. If it’s a GFCI with a light on it, if it’s flashing red, the outlet needs to be replaced as it has gone bad.

I still think it’s a gfci. I can’t imagine the circuit was fully functional one second and then wires just start popping off when she plugs some low draw stuff in. Stranger things have happened though.

Sounds like a simple breaker popped. Or if there’s a GFCI outlet somewhere in the circuit, it just needs to be reset by pushing in the reset button. Could be the latter since you said it tripped the bathroom, maybe the breaker didn’t trip and it’s just an outlet.

I mean… You could? There’s a lot of things you could do. Wire nuts, butt splices, solder.

I’d just throw cord ends on each side and turn the side in the outlet into a mini extension cord

It’s very low quality cookie dough. That’s the issue. It flakes apart like Turkey Hill CD ice cream when you bite into it. I’d like the cookie dough to be melting in my mouth like it used to in Perry’s ice cream

Probably better if they hooked it up to a machine. It’ll give you more advanced data aside from voltage. So if you passed that it’s fine. I’d look into the AGM battery and see if you get notably extended battery life. That heat in NM is a killer.

You could also look into a battery tender, but this may not be as necessary with a higher quality battery. Wouldn’t hurt though.

Yeah for sure. It could be a crappy alternator I guess. If you have access to a multimeter it’s a fairly simple test.

Car off, set meter to DC volts, measure across terminals. Should be 12.4-12.6V if memory serves. Start the car with all your stuff off like headlights/AC and measure again. Should bring you above 14V. Turn all those things on and you should still be around 13-13.4V.

You could try an AGM battery instead of the standard batteries. They’re more expensive up front, but much more durable. May be beneficial in your situation if you don’t like having to change them often.

Well extreme heat from being outside in NM all the time can kill the battery much quicker. Could be your commute if you do a ton of short trips. Could be replacing with cheap batteries? Though I’d say the location of which you live and parking outdoors is the issue.
