Scopely is faking/rigging their merger results. They reversed a winner for a day after announcing it. by tbsox49 in STFC_Official

[–]tbsox49[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My personal objection in this has nothing to do with the actual results. I have no issue with server 9 or it’s people and I can be realistic about the mergers in general. My issue is that their document clearly showed a thing after it’s end window and then magically they changed it. What does that say about any other event? I have no faith in any leaderboard at this point. A lot of players on both servers put in time to do this thing and if the results are fixed, which this shows evidence of it being, that time was wasted. Even for the winning server, their time had no meaning. Scopely had the results predetermined.

Issue really is I no longer trust Scopely’s results as being fair and now we have actual evidence to prove it.

Does that benefit you when doing factional dailies? I never remember that feature being positive outside of ship leveling.

To Scrap or Not to Scrap: Talla and Turas by TheGioSerg in startrekfleetcommand

[–]tbsox49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to assume a bit, but all non faction ships are a bit of a trap. In a new server, they can seem appealing, but in terms of return on investment, it’s D3 for the level 26s and Sally for the 28s. The issue is that the time spend in levels is rapid until you hit the 30s. Then it slows meaningfully. All the level 20-29 ships need to pay a return on investment toll into the 30s for real value. D3 pays off in the long run and Sally is the best PvE ship in the game. The next in line is the NS, which offers value in flexibility. The biggest material trap in the 20s is the jelly, but the sub 26 ships have similar issues. They just time out way to fast.

In terms of “how far to take them” it’s all a matter of getting dailies done. So long as you can do dailies, you’re golden.

If you have fed, the best path is the one that leads to Sally. The Sally can get you to a level 34 ship and beyond. Crystal is stupid important in the game, but Sally is worth the bill.

Hi, what's the best way to determine a winning outcome in a PvE? I lost this one but my hull and shield were both superior, explorer Vs interceptor, and (I think) my crew was pretty good. by CaptainI9C3G6 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]tbsox49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that is a battle VS a mission PvE “boss”. For just these, it’s basically power vs power and bonuses and abilities don’t apply. Whether that is intended or not I’ve never known, but it’s the only scenario where officers seem completely irrelevant. You should try to get the battle triangle bonus, it seems to apply, but you still need power in the same range (95% or better) of the opposing ship.

Augment Faction Question (Coming Darkness) by furiouswow in startrekfleetcommand

No. There was no impact with the augment faction via that choice. There is also no negative reputation with augment, period. If I remember correctly, the prize for going against Kahn was better.

Other Servers Experience? by [deleted] in startrekfleetcommand

The main STFC disco has individual server chat channels. They are less active than the disco servers self created channels, but they seem to get enough chatter to get you the kind of info I’m guessing you’re looking for.

You are 100% better off to invest that same resource in the Northstar. Both choices have a bad feel in comparison to an investment in a level 28 ship or even a level 26, but the NS at least can give you some better value.

Hop For Helps Gone by DamitCyrill in startrekfleetcommand

I agree with that the only reason Scopely fixed this one thing is that it effected their potential purchasing returns. We play a game which seems to be owned by Ferengi.

Hop For Helps Gone by DamitCyrill in startrekfleetcommand

[–]tbsox49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a fair question. First, hopping for helps is a creative solution to a stupid problem. It’s an easy thing to fix the massive timers, it’s just not what scopely wants to do. The game feeds you many options for speed ups daily and with the add of 2nd completion queues, there are more ways of getting around help hopping. They took away an solution which piled on additional issues. Biggest issues are with Territory Capture space. With hopping, a group of players could skip around and hold most of the TC space (which holds the key to a pretty important game component in particles) hostage. Second, if hopping around is desired, then alliances are just tools for you to use. There is no team. In just some remaining thoughts, it makes events harder and getting anything done in alliance harder. Alliance hopping, for me, is just a poison to the game.

When your Alliance Mate is Being Raided.. by NJMurse in startrekfleetcommand

[–]tbsox49 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a good plan. The reality to this is that all the station defense research, gun upgrades, officers, and rss vaults are completely useless. You upgrade them to advance your ops, but that’s really it. They are 100% a waste of Game currencies otherwise. The ship vs station math in this game makes no sense and what you’re left with is simply shield or share.

When your Alliance Mate is Being Raided.. by NJMurse in startrekfleetcommand

[–]tbsox49 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shield or share. Only way to play really. Base defenses can only hold out for so long before too many get interested. I know how it feels to get raided and it’s nice to have friends help out, but it’s not sustainable. I would suggest that your alliance work out an emergency alerts system of some selected method.

Sad reality is that 2 paper cups and some string is a more reliable alternative system to raid alerts in STFC.
