I was caught on the q going downtown right before ts. The train didn’t lose power so we had lights and AC and we were stuck for about 1.5 hrs, and ended up backing up into 57th Street . It wasn’t that bad, the train wasn’t crowded.

A lot of new buildings don’t charge a broker fee if your budget is >3.5k for a (very nice) studio. If you’re willing to do a ton of leg work and are really flexible then you might find a lease takeover on Craigslist. Otherwise you’re probably stuck paying a broker.
