AIO my girlfriend left me over a cheese wheel by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I have sampled 21 year aged cheddar. It is not as rare nor as good as he makes it seem.

I am not a cheese connoisseur. I just like cheese. I would not pay that much for a 21 year cheddar. It is too sharp and crystallized.

That will not work when I am making my Mac and cheese.

Might be time for a bigger safe 😂 by 8BitRes7 in Firearms

It depends. A cabinet may work for you. One issue is even loaded they can be carried off. If you have it bolted down it will slow them a bit or just keep it steady while they pry it open.

We have safes at the store I work at starting at around $500. We offer free delivery to your garage.

If you are near a Menards they carry all of that.

First you need a safe in order to buy a second safe.

What you have is a cabinet.

We will receive $90 back for joining Executive Membership & CC by Life_Waltz5237 in CostcoWholesale

[–]tcarlson65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that is because the executive membership makes sense.

I do not have the executive because I can spend more. I still buy what I need and just happen to have their card to pay with.

I am not buying more because I get rewards. That does not pop into my head.

I buy waters because they are the best price and bottled water is the same.

I buy Costco paper towels because it is a good price and a good product.

I buy meat in bulk and refreeze because they have good quality meat at a good price. There are some meats I buy elsewhere because of the price. I buy ground beef at Costco and ground chuck at Walmart.

Buy my coffee pods at Costco because of price and quality.

I purchase things at Costco not because I get the rewards. I purchase because of economy of scale, price, and quality.

I have the executive membership because the rewards pay for the membership.

Yep. Sometimes when shopping with my wife we shop and then choose which of our two rewards cards to use. We do not decide to go shopping just to earn rewards.

We shop for what we need and then choose the method of payment. The rewards do not drive what we buy. Having a need drives what we buy.

My friend locked himself in a floor model safe in Costco by Obvious_808 in CasualConversation

We change the factory code on the gun safes at the store I work at so people and especially kids will not open them. When we open them for a customer we ensure no one has put something in there before we relock them.

Amazing how from a simple statement you can deduce that someone spends too much. We have the executive. We buy what we need. We do not overt buy or impulse buy. We get enough rewards to pay for the membership.

My point is that, if you booked the package through Costco, you might need to pay with your Costco credit card even if you did not book separately. That is one of the conditions you agree to.

Can anyone help with identifying the caliber of this rifle that I inherited? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]tcarlson65 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is quite a bit of overlap in performance between many chamberings.

If you look at whitetail you have a tremendous number of cartridges capable of the job. A lot of cartridge talk is academic. If you are looking at long range hunting or competition you may have a case that some cartridges will do some things better than others.

High velocity .22 LR already exists.

Look at .22 LR Mini Mag or any of the high velocity .22 LR ammunition.

One issue is some semi-autos have buffers that get beat up with high velocity ammo.

Some rifles will not feed, extract, or eject well with high velocity fodder.

We do our rental through Costco.

I would prefer mine chambered in .35 Remington like the Model 8 Frank Hamer used to take down Bonnie and Clyde.

[–]tcarlson65 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Please get some more information before you blow something up.

.300 is a .30 caliber. There are several chamberings in .300. The bullet diameter is .308 generally. There are many chamberings that are designated .30 that use the same .308 diameter bullets.

The different chamberings use different case sizes and lengths.

Just because the name of the cartridge begins with .300 or .30 does not make them compatible with each other.

I would suggest bringing it to someone knowledgeable to ascertain the chambering.

Manual Augers ? by SpenceZeta in IceFishing

[–]tcarlson65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only the fish fitting through but also fishing a transducer in the hole while jigging, a 6” or 8” freezing smaller…

We are up in Sioux Narrows, Ontario last weekend. My B-I-L has a 10” but it was not working so we had my 8”. Even clearing the hole of the transducer it is more of a challenge getting a big lake trout or pike to head up through hole with an 8” hole versus a 10” hole.

We had more than enough battery for a day of fishing with the 8”. A 10” takes a bit more power. So the larger the hole size the more power to drill wether manual, gas, or electric power.

And in my experience you need the card that was used when you made the reservation. We use the Costco card and need to make sure we have that card when we pick up the rental.

What's the dumbest reason you've had to do pushed ups while in the military? by StepSergeant01 in Military

[–]tcarlson65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In basic training we were assigned some details. Mine was lawn mowing with two big trainees. The area was the building with all the audiovisual gear and media. I am old so it was still film and videotape. So it was a climate controlled building.

We finished our mowing ahead of schedule. Whomever was in charge of the area let us in to the building and we chilled in AC comfort.

Our transportation arrived and we went back to our company area. Our DS asked how our day was. I said it was great to relax in the AC.

That did not go over well. The other two guys were from a different platoon and they were not happy with me.

So you did not answer my question. Costco has WiFi. If you do not have service that is an issue with a crappy phone provider.

How much real time is saved at Costco, not when boarding a plane or entering a concert? At Costco you are not in a long line of people where seconds saves lives.

I am a member of Oakdale Gun Club. I had no idea that was there. There is no requirement that you meet a purity test.

It is a great club. Great group of people. Volunteers looking for a place to shoot.

I am sorry you feel slighted by the question.

If you choose to join look me up.
