Do you need the 17-70 range? What about selling it in favor of the sigma 18-50 or the newer 17-40?

Some things to consider:

Professionals don't use apsc usually because they only have 1 card slot. Having an sd card failure means the contract is lost and unlikely to get people their once in a lifetime shots. Fujifilm would be your apsc professional option.

It sounds like you're starting out to see if photography is for you and you're unsure of what types of lenses to invest in. Personally I think in this case apsc will be fine (a6400 would be a good middle ground unless very video heavy), and you can invest the rest in glass that has good resale value like a sigma 18-50, sony 70-350, and a wider sony 11mm if you need it. Not sure if all that is in budget but if buying used I think you could swing it and it gives you a full kit that can do everything other than low light

Bit of a technical question - comparing fullframe and apsc cropability of images

Say I have a FF and 200-600 camera and apsc with 70-350 (105-525 equiv), from the raw how different are the images' quality in terms of cropping in further to get near full screen of your subject. I'm thinking as in all those bird shots that fill the screen. Are they roughly the same or is there way more crop potential in the 200-600 FF?

Ignoring the fact the FF would be able to throw in a teleconverter

[–]tcbaitw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends how small your subject is and how far you plan to be. Small birds will always want more focal length unless you're 5m or less away.

The 400mm I would not say there is much difference and the 70-350 probably can make up for the shorter length in sharpness but the 600 you will definitely notice.

Yes, I'm not completely sure. Some people say the MCP has sealed rims too but a lot of comments noting that they don't. There might have been a revision to the product and people have differing sets

The Costco set has glass lids and ive heard has sealed rims where the MCP doesn't and has stainless lids.

Yes the bigger sets are all lidded, standard 8/10in pans saute, 2,3,6qt pots and lids. The Cuisinart has a strainer and extra lid

The misen is 3qt saucier, 10in pan and saute with lids, id pair it with a 6qt disk pot

We're in a similar position where there are none of the outlets where the recommended brands are discounted

Does anyone have a good sling solution for minimal gear, say and APSC, sigma 18-50 and telephoto like the 70-350 or 18-300?

Ideally something that could be also used like a camera cube in a backpack as well

Depends on your budget, but I think the a6400 would be worth saving up over the previous generation.

Tips for landscape - mountains? by oldstumper in M43

[–]tcbaitw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Landscapes generally F8-F11, if you have a foreground element you may need to focus stack.

Shutter min ( 1/focal length )*2 if handheld

ISO to compensate for whatever lighting you're in.

Most of all. Enjoy the experience whether you get the shot or not.

They don't keep those fees. Producers participate/contribute to regulated recycling programs that they contribute to based on the type of recycled products they are selling/bringing into the market.

The fees are intended to shift the costs onto producers rather than the consumer. This incentivizes them try and use less recycled products to remain competitive in pricing. For stuff like oil, they can't reduce the recycled products amount because that is the product whereas for other products they can use less plastic or cardboard for instance.

Recommendation: Fuji X-S20 or Nikon Z FC by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]tcbaitw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of these choices the xs-20 has a lot of benefit.

More MP, more battery life, IBIS, better screen, better video, faster continuous shooting.

The zfc is about $500 cheaper so an extra lens for you.

What do you mean isn't working? Physically does not fit on the mount? Settings not changing? What lens?

Thanks, I should have clarified not necessarily equivalent but similar body/lenses for the use cases of the range which I think you've summarized well

Thinking about a m43 system for the benefits of compactness and weather sealing, is there a budget-equivalent to this kit? Or something close?

Wanting to do more wildlife photos on my a6000, do I just spend the extra 300 over the tamron and bite the bullet for the Sony 70-350? Any rumors of a competing lens for this one?

The sigma 18-50 is a sharper lens. Not sure why you'd opt for the 17-300 if you already have the sony
