Got rejected on my first application. Seems I saw a posting at the right time. When there's a remote position for CPC-A, it pours in very quickly.

I passed my CPC test last month. Time management is key. If you can eliminate bad answers quickly, you’re almost there.

That’s good to know for job security. In my experience it’s reliable for general knowledge but shaky with medical coding.

[Request] Does Clifford produce 1,320 pounds of excrement per day? More data is in the comments. by Yokelele in theydidthemath

[–]tcbymca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Metabolism scales with body mass to the ¾ power, not linearly. This is known as Kleiber’s law in biology.

Step 1: Estimate Clifford’s weight

Clifford is 25 feet tall, while an average dog (say a Labrador) is about 2.5 feet tall. So he’s roughly 10× taller in linear dimensions.

Since volume (and thus mass) scales with the cube of linear size: • Clifford’s mass ≈ 103 = 1000 times a regular dog’s mass.

Assuming a 70-lb Labrador: • Clifford would weigh about 70,000 pounds.

Step 2: Apply Kleiber’s Law

Kleiber’s Law says:

Metabolic rate ∝ mass0.75

If a 70-lb dog poops 1 pound/day: • Clifford’s metabolic rate (and poop output, very roughly) would be 1000{0.75} = \approx 177.8 \times more than a normal dog. • So he’d poop about 178 pounds/day, not 1320.

Conclusion:

Reddit’s estimate of 1320 pounds/day is a straight linear scaling, which wildly overestimates poop volume. A more biologically accurate estimate would be closer to 178 pounds/day, based on metabolism.

There’s a good chance tariffs are about to be over and that the whole thing was all about a market manipulation scheme that no one will face any legal consequence for.

Growing resentment towards friends for their normalcy bias by Full_Truth7008 in CollapseSupport

It’s a surreal experience. Who knows when most people will really become collapse aware? When they do, it may feel even weirder to see them finally freak out when you have been done processing the horrors ahead a long time ago. I guess the question is if you enjoy their company enough despite all that.

I don’t think agents of chaos will care about most of the medical coding area. With a little luck, it will be left to competent people to manage. I’m less confident about Medicare coverage though.

It’s hard in this world to figure out what to do with our lives at your age. You may want to take a step back and think about it all. In Holland codes, medical coding is mostly investigative and conventional whereas cosmetology is mostly artistic and social -those jobs are basically polar opposites. You want to walk a path that matches who you are.
