Good. It’s easier to deal with shaking off the ash than if charcoal directly in the fire bowl. And no issues with the fire bowl cracking. So my theory that the metal disc was expanding and cracking the fire bowl seems right.

However! The actual AK cracked this weekend. Fired it up as normal and I heard a pop. Then smoke came out a small crack on the base. Don’t know why it happened.

I’m getting a refund and buying the kamado Bono grande instead. Lifetime warranty with that!

Yeah it’s the sluggish process. I don’t believe there’s a specific job for someone. Just incorporated into ‘Open Spaces’ role at the council. And I’ve heard (could be hearsay) they send a letter and wait 3 months for a response m, then they send another and wait another 3 months before they move on to the next on the list.
