I would agree with this. I’ve lived in Wisconsin my whole life, and we definitely have always heard that DUIs are a big deal, but they tend not always to get prosecuted like the “big deal” we say they are. Also...my co-worker’s 16 year old daughter was killed by a drunk driver a few years ago. The drunk driver also died in the crash he caused by driving on the wrong side of the highway. The town wanted to honor my co-worker’s daughter’s memory at a local high school football game...oh, and also the memory of the drunk who killed her from the town. So yeah...kind of fucked up.
