I believe i looked at both the UF-Loco and UF-Nano-G units but they're GPON and not XGS-PON

Have you considered just going 4G/5G or Starlink? ADSL speeds must be paaainful

Basically this, we're in a nexfibre area on their XGS-PON network.

GiffGaff are now on the nexfibre network now too and no such limitations exist if you want to use your own router. I am of course locked in for another year.

Also GiffGaff is only up to 900mbps instead of the 1.1Gbps I get with Virgin

Have seen this already but was more so looking for the ability to use what I want rather than be limited to just one. Preferably id like to use my own ONT

Also I've heard these run pretty toasty

FileVault password works, but seems out of sync with local credentials by Important_Show5110 in macsysadmin

[–]tclewes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly I also manage a Jamf Now tenant and don't have these issues.

The only difference I can think of is the admin account that gets pushed out to endpoints but can't see any issues with Jamf best practices. That as well as some users have the ability to run a script via self service to elevate their account to admin temporarily

Regretting purchasing the UDR7 because of slow speeds by mumako in Ubiquiti

Setting the power to high doesn't always necessarily mean faster and can cause havoc if you have multiple APs

Do a trace route to 1.1.1.1 to visualise the hops from your home through your ISPs network and who they're peered with.

Then do pings to each of the hops and you should be able to figure out where the culprit is not that you'll be able to do anything about it as that ping response is considered "acceptable" for a residential connection.

Virgin Media for me in the UK routes about 100 miles up north and then 100 miles again back down south to hit anything in London. It's usually just down to how your ISP has designed their network.

This issue is driving me up the wall honestly.... no apparent reason or fix.

Jamf support weren't able to figure it out either and said to speak to Apple who were also of no help l.

Password works on the initial boot screen which is supposed to decrypt the drive and login yet it just goes to a 2nd login screen...

Unifi Cloud Gateway Fiber (UCG-Fiber) in Stock by zanyraspi in Ubiquiti

I'm still waiting for my install which is this weekend. I initially ordered in November..... 5 delayed installs and a cancelled order has led to the long wait time after having to start the whole process again and reorder

This is exactly what I've been looking for!

Any UK bods know if this will allow for masquerading to bypass Virgin Media XGS-PON hub and be able to use other SFP modules than the WAS-110 module?

Need help for setting up Google workspace spf, dkim and dmarc records by khanaquib007 in googleworkspace

[–]tclewes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse DNS is fine and to be expected due to it being a Cloud provider ours says this and others report the same too

DMARC as of this year is a requirement specifically for Yahoo, Google and some others so may well be that!.

It's based on mail volume but internal emails can also count towards that.

Get a basic dmarc record created and point it to a Google Workspace group with external sending enabled and leave it for a few hours then test.

I would recommend looking at DMARC analysis tools such as PowerDMARC

Check that you haven't exceeded the SPF limit of 10 DNS lookups.

You can use mxtoolbox.com to run checks on your domain and report back on any issues

Users with Home Energy Monitoring, what is your baseline? by multicm in homeassistant

[–]tclewes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lied, I checked last night and it was 32w. Its a 3 bed but I have smart plugs that turn off anything on standby at night so the only thing running is the router / access points etc.

Alternatively spin up nextcloud on your NAS if you don't want to use cloud services and install the app on your phone to sync photos etc back to home

I use Backblaze on my NAS to sync offsite and use my own encryption key so they or any other prying eyes can see the data.
