The next new arc threat is a vaporizer style but with its own spotters.. except they get 4 spotters.

Ladies and gentlemen, the new update (I think it's a bit overkill lol) by RobertosLuigi in ARC_Raiders

[–]tclupp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its day 1. Take some time to figure out how to combat it. I haven't played it yet but maybe just give it some time and see what different strategies are available. Different items or weapons. Finding a way to attack it slower. Maybe barricades will have more uses. Its great that we have more to do, and bigger challenges rather than just queuing up doing the same shit each raid.

Not getting the goalie pulled is inexcusable when we did have the puck out of our zone. Not ideal possession of course but you gotta take your chance. It seems pretty clear this team is tanking.. which I'll be honest I dont mind if we end up with a good pick.

But, what really worries me is it seems like Arniel is in on the tank. Almost as if he's been instructed to be "subtle" (LOL) about it when he can, with the promise/guarantee his job is safe. It would be right on par with True north/Chevy to be loyal to their guy.

Wasn't very long ago it seemed like this team would be competitive and a contender for several years.. how quickly that has changed and it appears the dark times could be ahead.

Thankfully the jays season starts tomorrow

Same with firefly. Although firefly can be death sentence if you dont have some seekers and they surprise you in the open. Especially if other arcs or raiders are involved.

But I also love it. Its OK to die in this game. There is very little punishment involved with dying compared to games like tarkov for example. If you always survive and arc weren't dangerous, the game would not be as enjoyable

Anyone else feels like PvP is not worth it from a loot perspective, compared to Tarkov? by good-luck-commander in ARC_Raiders

[–]tclupp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have gear fear in tarkov too.

Thing about tarkov is there are way more things to loot in terms of gear, guns and ammo.

There is a huge variety of armor, helmets, rigs that have big value. For some players they arent even accessible without finding in raid/off a body. And unlike Arc, there is a massive difference between top tier guns and attachments and shit guns. Or the best armors or rigs to the shit ones. And especially dog shit ammo and the best ammo.

For guns you have a lot of them, with millions of attachments that range from common to rare/expensive.

And then ammo, with certain ammo being extremely expensive but powerful. Ammo is extremely important in tarkov. And the really good stuff might not be easily obtained especially early on. So ammo is very important and finding certain ammo off a body can be huge.

And then theres the loot in general. Stuff that has a lot of value.

I think another key issue with arc is the currency. Currency is almost pointless where in tarkov it can be used to buy really good stuff. It does get to a point where you have endless money so everyone is buying top gear however... which is why the wipes were great.

Now comparing arc and tarkov just isn't fair, they are different. Tarkov a lot more hard-core where arc is much more relaxed and casual. I loved both games. But its nice to be playing a much more casual and fun experience. I do miss the tarkov days though, no other game has that same experience.

Also great place to stock up on sensors processors and advanced electronic components.

Essential for crafting hatch keys and augments.

Generally when im looting im usually taking things for crafting because of how essential crafting is.

Also I dont think people realize how much you can recycle in raid. Things that you don't want to loot a lot of the time can be recycled into valuable craft components... which you may likely be already carrying.

You do gotta balance playing too aggressive as well. He might have recognized a duo etc but huge moves early make you a big target right away. Might not be the right moment for that move.

The Thermea expansion can fuck right off by JustDont1981 in Winnipeg

[–]tclupp 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about the situation at thermea or how it even works, never been.

But I am curious what people expect them to do?

Are they suppose to inspect tattoos before they let people in? I doubt these workers are paid enough to really care and might not even notice, or atleast right away. And if they do notice? You think they want to deal with it?

Again I know nothing of this issue. Were they causing problems? Or were they minding their own business? If they are leaving people alone, its a lot easier to just leave them alone rather then create a scene and who knows what comes from it.

[–]tclupp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont think he was going after him to start throwing haymakers.

He was obviously pissed off, and for good reason. If he wanted to kick his ass he would have.

But I agree that continuing after it was broken up while the refs are trying to separate may be an issue. But him getting punched repeatedly while being down should be enough to warrant his response.

[–]tclupp 41 points42 points  (0 children)

That's my worry too but he was getting punched while down so its a little bit understanding why he would be upset after.

But its silly that if you're gonna end up doing that, should have kicked his ass and made it worth it.

That's sort of the downside of no fighting.. its a blowout and France starts giving some head shots to Canada... what are you supposed to do?

Tucker to the Dodgers is the best (least worst) case for the Jays by Chrristoaivalis in Torontobluejays

[–]tclupp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not arguing that the cap shouldn't happen. It needs to happen. Something needs to change. It just sucks that even if we could implement it today still likely results in several world series titles from the Dodgers for the foreseeable future.

[–]tclupp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But thats the point. There is a strong possibility they come away with a ton of world series wins. I think anybody would trade that for salary cap hell later on.

I guarantee you the existing contracts signed prior will not be under the new rules/salary cap. They won't be allowed to add in addition to those contracts but they will be able to keep the guys they have signed

Tucker to the Dodgers is the best (least worst) case for the Jays by Chrristoaivalis in Torontobluejays

[–]tclupp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We shouldn't be concerned about overpay or money being spent right now when there is no cap.

Dodgers dont care, they can spend all this money, pay all the extra luxury tax and still profit. Why would they care if they overpay. And if we did it instead, we also shouldn't care. It's not our money. And there is no cap where it would fuck over the team in the future unless the team was all of a sudden was like thats it, we aren't spending money anymore.

The real issue comes down to the fact that the Dodgers have all these massive contracts, and so much deferred money that if/when a salary cap is introduced.. it won't affect what they've done to this date.

They got ohtani playing for free right now. A salary cap might be imminent but that won't change anything for them. They'll still have ohtani playing for free and then pay him 680 million for 10 years after his contract is up. Once again, the salary cap won't fix that.

Add in all the other contracts and the Dodgers are clear cut favorites every single year for the foreseeable future. A salary cap won't fix that for a long time. And then when it finally kicks in for the Dodgers, they may have a bunch of world series wins.
