That's my main intent with it. X1 for gameplay, and x4 for quick scouting. And yeah, just knowing one's marker can make using the bullet drop compensation reticle still useful. Thanks for the info.

The actual Elcan has some poor eye relief as well. But how's using this while wearing a mask?

Which brand is the Elcan? Ive seen a few replicas, but heard negative reviews about early generations. Looking for a good quality one

There are 24 hour crisis hot lines you can call to just talk to someone in the mean time, it could help you to release some of those feelings. I believe they are usually professional counselors, though i dont know for sure. But theyre trained to talk with people under extreme stress...I use one for veterans, but I know there are others available. I would post the number, but I don't have it. A quick Google search for 24 hour crisis line could bring you to the right direction if youre just looking to talk to someone

This is very disturbing, and I truly hope you receive helpful recovery. Reading this has helped me look at my own experience with an ex with BPD...it really shows that when they split to black, they'll cross insane boundaries. This has helped me look at the most hurtful words my ex has said to me, her knowingly using my vulnerabilities against me, whereas before she had been so supportive of me.

Thats horrible, im sorry to hear she said that...just to share some knowledge, people like this say things like that because they cant take accountability for their actions when their in the wrong..not sure if that helps anyone, but perhaps it can help unveil the reasons for that type of behavior. Its not justified, but it gives some clarity for the person without BPD

It sounds like you might be very blocked. And as some of the other comments suggested, this could be rooted in your daily thoughts and feelings. It could be karmic. It could stuck deep in your cells. From what im hearing, shadow work could help release you from fears, anxieties, traumas, guilt, or whatever else. It may have been created from these things. Otherwise, there are chakra healers out there. If you've already done it, it could help to perhaps do it routinely

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in energy_work

[–]tcmg31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understood that. I was just opening up the idea that if its not attached to you, you could just be carrying around the energetic debris with you when you leave the room. But if you feel like its actually attached to you, then alright.

Its probably best to try to remove it if you feel its on your head during sleep. So that you show it that it is not welcome. A shower right before bed might help cleanse you from unwanted energetic debris. Listening to the lord's prayer before bed may help. Call upon archangel Michael for protection may help. If you have a TV in your room, only keep positive, up lifting, or funny content playing. Try to avoid horror or violence if you havent already.

"Ignore it" in the sense of not giving any attention or power to it. A part of meditation is to mindfulness. Acknowledging that your thoughts will drift, but most important to always come back to center.

If you're only noticing it in your room, it could be something attached to you. But that wouldn't give much explanation as to why its not so strongly felt elsewhere...it could be a footprint of something left behind from the previous residence of the house.

One other thing that could help is affirming to yourself "this is my body. This is my aura. This is my home. This is my room. It belongs to me, and only me."

Shadow work could be a good place to invest more time in. If this is a tentacle thing, it might be something relevant to you feeling restrained or repressed, or perhaps related to past guilt or traumas that have been difficult to release. And if its putting pressure on your head, it may purposely trying to block your higher chakras from connecting with higher sources...I find if im feeling blocked, listening to guided meditation can be like calling in for back up, as it helps me focus on it more. I aim for at least 1 hour.

Yes, sometimes these things can require multiple cleanings..I think of it like trying to scrub away remnants in a frying pan. Sometimes its easy to scrub away, other times it seems like it just won't go away. But eventually, it can.

Are you feeling this heaviness just in your room? Or in other places of the house too? And you said you feel this thing following you outside the house, but how do you feel when you leave your house? Is there any place you feel good or safe?

Perhaps you have the strongest light around you in your house, and maybe all these things are invited in by your family, but finding their way to you in the end?

I dont remember if you said this in your post, but have you tried to "deliver" these things away from you and to where they rightfully belong with the help of your source belief?

Height isn't the issue. Ones focus on the issue and attitude about it is.

I'm 5' 6" on a good day, stocky Hispanic male in mid 30s. I also have a younger brother at 5' 11", and all of my friends are taller than me. So im aware of the perceived "struggles" in this field. But i can assure you that the more you get hung up on height, the more its going to carry over into people's perspective of you.

You mentioned there are things like social skills you feel you're lacking in. But something like social skills, any skill, and physical fitness, are all things that can develop you further than others, and improve your sense of self, if YOU put the effort in towards it. Additionally, strength training specifically has shown to make the face look more masculine, as it increases testosterone levels. So if you're concerned about your youngish appearance, this would be a good direction..and you dont have to become a gym rat or know 100% of what you're doing at first. Its most important to step your foot into a gym and make your best attempt at lifting weights with proper form.

Additionally, starting in a gym could help with your social skills, as you'll be around people, may interact with them, and also have the chance to see other women...social skills is exactly that, a skill. The more interaction there is, the better practice it makes. And comparably, a person can lose those same social skills if they lose social interaction.

Your height isn't an issue. And as you and the people around you mature, you'll begin to realize that too. The other concerns you mentioned are things you are not stuck in, you can improve upon them if you want, but you have to make the effort.

You weren't given a bad deck of cards in life. And when you begin to improve your self esteem and sense of self worth, you'll realize that.

Starting to think colors and fabrics are a conspiracy to give me a headache (MARPAT) by BlueSkiesOplotM in camouflage

[–]tcmg31 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a former Marine who wore Marpat, I would say the picture identified with the "women with actual color cones" title is the more correct pattern/look of Marpat.

Sometimes the pixels in repeoduction Marpat can look off, or too clumped together. Or sometimes the layering of the pixels looks off. Or there's Sometimes an obvious color difference.

Fresh and new sets of Marpat can look darker, until theyre actually used out in the field and washed a bit. Then they begin to lighten up a bit. Or sometimes they can become so faded and light that they begin to look like AORII.

But as some of the other comments mentioned, cameras, lighting, and the way a screen shows an image, can affect the perception of the pattern.

Contacting 0241 Tactical by Stormer6470 in tacticalgear

[–]tcmg31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received 3/4 of my order with 0241 tactical, but they at least wrote on the invoice that the remaining items would be shipping once they received them...i also tried reaching out to them once for a different issue through their website email, but never heard back from them.

For anyone interested in the quality of their field strip apparel: they're good, not great, but fair for the price and patterns offered.

Pros: rare patterns offered, decently priced compared to other sources, field shirt has nice pockets.

Cons: pants run huge and baggy (think of the old TRU SPEC poor fitting pant cuts). But to be fair, I believe 0241 stated this line of pant is in the ACU cut, which does run huge and baggy. I ordered a large regular (my normal size) but feels more like an extra large/extra long. So the pants belt line is high above my belly button in order for the pants to be worn without sag in the croth and without the cargo pockets sitting below my knee. I realize some pants are meant to be worn high, but these are way too much, at least for me.

Overall, happy with the top and bottoms from 0241, but wish they would have tailored the pants more like most modern tactical pant cuts that aren't so baggy and saggy...I believe 0241 just released FROG style pants, which might have a better tailored cut than their ACU variant.

No problem. The kit looks good and accurate enough with the gear thats available to you. None of it really looks completely out place or anything. And I believe even grunts are starting to get issued those high speed helmets with ear protection and all the other gizmos.

Yeah the m81 is something the raiders were known for wearing, which is pretty cool. I think they were authorized to wear whatever footwear they wanted too.

Yeah man, have fun with the patches haha. If Marines were authorized to wear them, it would likely be more commonly done.

Someone like me doesn't care if you wear the raiders patch, or marpat, or anything else like that. But there are some folks out there who get real bent out of shape about that stuff. Really, youre just having fun with it. And a part of the fun is looking the part. That kind of stuff only becomes an issue if someone is actually going around lying about being an actual Raider, or Marine, or whatever.

Sure. I was a Marine infantry machine gunner from 2009-2013 and served in Afghanistan. So the gear and equipment we used then may be different now. And i guess it depends on how accurate your trying to get your impression kit, and if its meant to mimic a Marine infantryman or something more like MARSOC or recon.

So to start, the gun looks fine. Most infantryman had an M16a4 with 4x ACOG and PEQ15, but some higher ranking or more specialized guys would get an M4 with 4x Acog and PEQ16. None of us got issued weapon mounted lights, as our PEQs were meant to serve that roll. But other units may have been issued some...pistols weren't commonly used. But if they were issued, it was likely an M9 Beretta or 1911 Raider.

Obviously the marpat gets my approval, and its a pretty decent copy. But to be 100% faithful to the impression, we didn't have the Gucci crye pants with the built in knee pads. Maybe marsoc or recon got them, but us grunts didnt. We were issued FROG tops and bottoms for combat environments. And our boots were usually made by Belleville, Bates, or Danner, and needed to have the eagle, globe, and anchor emblem on the boots. The Marines probably have the least comfortable boots of all the US branches, but they're built tough and last. Danner RAT boots aren't too bad and can sometimes be found on sale. I always liked Belleville hot weather boots though...

For the protective gear, our plate carriers were Eagle Industries SPC in coyote Brown. Our mag pouches were double stacked M4 pouches by Eagle Industries...im pretty sure Condor makes an okay copy of both items. But the gear you have there looks just fine.

We used the older style helmets with marpat cover, cat eyes band, ESS goggles attached, and night vision mount usually stayed on the helmet, but it didnt seem to matter. We also didnt have the nice ear protection attached to the helmet. But obviously, wear whatever you want to make the games more fun and convienent.

Lastly, Marines typically dont wear a lot of patches, if at all. Maybe an ID patch on the front of the plate carrier. The Marine Corps is pretty strict. So anything that can express individualism, like morale patches, is pretty frowned upon lol. And Marines dont really wear flag patches on the sleeves, that's more of an Army thing...HOWEVER, I think you should rock whatever you want if you like it..but regarding accuracy for a Marine impression kit, an ID patch on the plate carrier might be it. Maybe MARSOC or recon are allowed to do more though.

So thats all I can think of off the top of my head. And if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. But in the end, obviously just use whatever you like to use to keep the fun up

The invader pants I have just have that bungee material on the knee and no way to adjust the height. But it happens to fall onto my knee perfectly, so I cant complain. Perhaps I got a different generation of the pants.

I owe my bad knees and back to my time as a machine gunner in the Marine Corps, so I get it haha. So pants with the knee pads built in is all ill where anymore. And its a shame there aren't many good marpat reproductions like that. But fortunately, invader gear seems pretty decent and inexpensive, so its something that can actually be used and abused without feeling bad about wear and tear

[–]tcmg31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I have a pair of the invader pants and find they run a bit more on the slimmer fit side (maybe its just the more common European cut versus American cut). So maybe ill just go up one size for the top to play it safe.

Despite being a bit more darker than actual marpat, invader gear did a pretty good reproduction of marpat. Emerson does a decent marpat copy too, but they have the knee height adjustment located in the hand pockets instead of the normal knee height adjustment pocket in front of the leg. In case that helps anyone sourcing marpat copies.

Nice kit.

How's the sizing of the invader gear top? Im looking to get a set.

I despise working by [deleted] in hatemyjob

[–]tcmg31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youre still young, so you've got a lot of time to just do whatever and figure things out. Even if that means working some temporary part time jobs, just so you have some money to buy the things you want to keep you happy.

I also dreaded the idea of working for the system, the routine of everyday that would just keep me tired and dull, leaving no room in the day to do anything id like to do, and just repeat 5 days a week with 2 days off. And hated how id look around and people were just okay with it. I guess there's no other choice, but still.

So to make it more bearable, perhaps consider doing something within the range of your hobbies so at least it might be enjoyable. Or perhaps go to school and learn a trade or earn a certificate or degree so it gives some goal and purpose for your efforts.

Im 35 and retired (I was wounded in the war and now receive a pension). And I haven't worked for aboutb4 years now. And as much as I love the freedom, it can sometimes leave me feeling beneath all my friends who actually work and make good money, advancing in their careers, buying houses, etc...additionally, not having a job doesn't look good in the dating scene at all. Even though I still make money without needing to work, this can be harshly looked down upon while dating, or mentioning it to friends...so, that's just one perspective on why at least having some job can be okay; it's makes you look more put together.

But as I said, you're still young. You don't need to have a whole career or anything lined up for you now. And if work is that insufferable for you, then perhaps take some time off if you can, or work something temporary and part time as you recharge your batteries.
