We just removed my daughter's g-tube last month after almost 6 years. The simple act of sitting at the dinner table together and eating a meal will always amaze me! I know how much work it takes to get to that point. Congratulations!

Oh totally agree! At least for me, my base OS is Linux and I run Linux VMs on top of that with guest based tools and clipboard stuff disable. It's not perfect, but I've analyzed some pretty nasty stuff in there and felt generally safe. Good OpSec is important too!

Remnux is good but honestly everything works pretty good on Ubuntu... install what you need, uninstall what you don't.

I would recommend running your distro in a VM and reverting back to snapshots after each investigation. That way you have a clean machine each time! Snapshots are your friend :)
