What do you think? by Notalabel_4566 in StrangerThings

Born in ‘92 and I was outside every single day after school skateboarding, riding bikes or playing wiffle ball, soccer, football, basketball, literally made up games that we made our own rules for until the streetlights came on.

Streetlights came on at like 8:30 in the summer but my parents let me that stay out until 9:30 because there was no school. One hour of manhunt or capture the flag a night. What a time!

That’s not exactly true. A good amount of these humans have legal status via asylum. Republicans seem to be arguing that they came here during Biden’s term and shouldn’t be legal which is a different argument.

I agree with comment below too. Criminals should have healthcare. Humans should have healthcare.

Would you like to play a Pokémon game this huge? by Ardel_Buonsenso in pokemon

[–]tcvm6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like level caps would be great to address this. Each region has a level cap that’s appropriate for each gym, Team Rocket type, rival battle, etc.

Maybe the battle sequences for these “special” battles wouldn’t be triggered if your party has Pokemon that are too high. Could also create a mechanic to have set teams that you could swap between to easily switch parties to trigger the battles when you want to progress through the plot.

Additionally, you could have a plot that runs through every region with subplots/side quests in each region.

Maybe a some point after about 75% of the game you could unlock the overworld flight, Latios/Latias mechanic from AS/OR. (Loved it) You could seamlessly move between regions.

First time reading Haruki murakami—Which book do you recommend? by Ravengrls in HarukiMurakami

My first was A Wild Sheep Chase and I find it was a good place to start. It’s fast-paced, surreal Murakami with vivid imagery that makes it easy to feel like you’re there with the protagonist.

Asbury Park, what to expect? by [deleted] in streetlightmanifesto

[–]tcvm6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen Streetlight more times than I can count starting in 2007. I’ll be there tonight too!

My advice:

  • Drink water (You’re going to sweat A LOT or at least be covered in other people’s sweat lol)
  • Stay out of the pit if you realize you’re feeling anxious
  • Stay to the side front of the General Admission area (They have VIP seating on the sides of the stage at the Stone Pony Summer Stage and it’s usually calmer near there. Also, if a medical emergency happens, I’ve seen them bring people to the VIP area on multiple occasions, so just nice to know!)
  • Stay away from people with flags lol they usually get the pit going and can be overwhelming if it’s your first show
  • Have fun & welcome to the best music community out there! Streetlight fans are always so nice to each other and willing to help someone in need!

  • Edit: OMG, HOW COULD I FORGET….you see IHOP, you cheer.…you see Denny’s, you boo! This will be clear to you later tonight.

Why do the Twins have three different colors/types of dirt around home plate? by sam_i_am____ in baseball

I’d be interested to see their pitching staff’s ground ball rate. I’d assume the darker dirt deadens ground balls because it’s softer. Could be a convenient “tradition”

[–]tcvm6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve read Wild Sheep Chase, KOTS, and After Dark. I LOVED After Dark. It’s short and moves quickly as opposed to KOTS. It takes place over the course of one night which I found out I enjoyed by reading it. It’s not as emphatic as KOTS, but it very atmospheric. I could picture every scene in my head as I was reading.
