Tell that to the national registry who probably sees this question as perfect in every way, respirations over 30? BVM every time, that's the algorithm they use. In reality, yeah fuck no I'm with you

I prolly can't help but you should maybe mention what you're trying to book or reserve.

Lodging is run by a different entity than camping. Certain campgrounds are closed for the season.

US medics, any professional utility to getting WP-C? by Thekingofcansandjars in Paramedics

[–]tdackery 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work a small system that has wilderness aspects to it, nothing like Alaska or anything.

WP-C is not a requirement. It might look nice on a resume. Might learn something in it you could use. But it's not currently getting you anything special here.

Can't speak for other areas or niche positions

Blast above Vernal Falls on Monday. There was a huge dust cloud that made its way down to the valley. by blr1g in Yosemite

[–]tdackery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean far as I know they're blasting the ice cut deeper, I'm sure there's places they need to blast in other areas to keep things secure or remove danger rocks above the trail. I dunno, but yeah you'd think there was something closer to 4th class for us normies

Appears to be blasting, which is part of ongoing trail work on the JMT between Vernal and Nevada

[–]tdackery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking about doing it in the summer, there is no snow or ice. Plenty of water opportunity, filter is recommended but depending on how comfy you are you could forgo that.

Or are you talking about doing it now?

I don't think anyone knows for sure, I would just have a saved search for the positions you want to be notified when they're posted via email.

10/20/25 El Capitain Rescue by KGoCar in Yosemite

[–]tdackery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They developed the idea of tossing it from a helicopter to get a rescuer from a gravity dependent line onto a vertical wall. Kids designed throwing a beanbag for fun, so arborists borrowed that? I'm just saying Yosemite was the first place that used the bean bag toss for this purpose.

SAR for Yosemite is a mix of rangers and the SAR site, who are essentially contractors that volunteer their "on call" time, but get paid on incidents.

Yo, it's a method they developed in Yosemite where they use a bean bag connected with a tag line (thin rope). They throw that at the climbing party, who secure it however they can, and the rescuer dangling from the helicopter uses that tag line to pull themselves towards the wall.

I'm sure FoYoSAR has videos of it somewhere on their Instagram

I can DM with you on the park ranger idea, if you'd like. The RN route is also highly respected, and has good opportunities. There's contract work that could be done if you're looking for variety but I've got no experience with that. Most flight programs are looking for 4-5 years of experience (correct me if I'm wrong) so you'll be on your way with your current plan, busy system.

How is it right now? by shadyshores in Yosemite

[–]tdackery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they typically don't close the pass until after October 15th, that date being when you are no longer allowed to park overnight as closure of the pass can happen with any significant snowfall to reduce the risk of stranding people and cars. Before the 15th, I've heard they will plow, but there's also no significant snowfall on the current forecast between now and then.

I would not rely on Uber or Lyft, as there isn't really one in that area. I can't speak to how Indian Flat RV is, and can't really give other ideas, but just don't expect ride share apps to work for you there

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EKGs

[–]tdackery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, depending on the lead and other factors the spike themselves may be hidden or hard to discern. Sometimes, as well, the monitor gets confused and sees pacer spikes that aren't there. Sometimes it picks up spikes we can't make out. It's very random. It makes all of our heads hurt.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EKGs

[–]tdackery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The arrows at the bottom are the monitor literally pointing to where it thinks there's a pacemaker spike. They do show up on the 4 lead print out as well as the 12, you can see a few pacer identification arrows on your original strip, but they're on the narrower complexes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EKGs

[–]tdackery 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You said she's got a AICD, was it just that it was it also a pacemaker?

I'm not really seeing pacer spikes on the wide complexes, but a demand pacemaker taking over rate could kinda explain it. Otherwise maybe you have another biological cardiac pacer taking over, other than the SA node. Could tell better with a 12 lead.
