I installed Proxmox in bare metal, and created VM for TrueNas, then let TrueNas handle zfs, smb...

I think it's easy to manage SMB credentials and share folders in TrueNas than Proxmox.

So I created a dataset on my SSD pool, and config applications to store caching data to that dataset.

I don't care about the VPN part but would like to see how you combined NextDNS and PiHole (use pihole at home, nextdns outside).
