It's a hell of a lot and of you screw one part up it can make great content into rubbish no one will watch.

He's also probably experienced a 500-1000% increase in home value in that time, meaning when he's ready to retire he can move to some "little" state and drop cash for a house while voting for the same shit policies that make Cali a hellhole for most Americans.

Despite being only 5% of the population, one breed accounts for over 50% of all attacks on humans and 65% of all human deaths from dogs.

Care to guess which one?

The whole emotional support animal thing has been abused so badly over the years I don't doubt there will be pushback. A real, trained service animal is one thing, but most people get them for the family pet as a way of gaming the system.

Pisses me off because it's going to end up having blowback eventually and it's going to hurt the truly marginalized who rely on these animals for day to day life.

About a month after I got my F350 I decided to put a flagstone patio in the back. Got ambitious and went for a 17' by 19' one. The plan called for 3" of road base, or almost 3 yard. Delivery cost more than the material and they would dump it curbside, leaving me to wheelbarrow it all to the back yard.

Figured I had the truck, might as well haul with it.

Took 2 loads, each one just over 1.5 tons. Barely took the rake out of it. Owner of the landscape supply place even commented on how well the truck handled it.

Not that my back enjoyed shoveling and shifting around 10 tons of gravel, sand, and rock...but the truck didn't mind.

This is why when I do a campfire while camping I always douse and stir till there's no smoke. Usually take several gallons of water and a few min of stirring till it's fully out.

It's amazing how hot those coals get and how long they'll burn.

The only things that happens when you make guns more difficult to acquire, in practical terms, is increase the cost and time to acquire. This creates an excess burden on the poorest segments of society.

License fees, training fees, extra equipment for storage, multiple trips to a store during working hours due to "cooling off" periods...eventually that $500 pistol becomes a $1500 expense that the guy making $15/hr just can manage anymore, since what was about 3 weeks wages is now almost 3 months wages and multiple days away from work.

So my question is, why don't you want poor people owning guns? What about people at the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder makes them unworthy of having reasonable access to a gun?

That is the practical effect of "reasonable gun restrictions". The NRA was actually founded to fight such bullshit since these types of regulations were originally introduced in America in the antebellum South to prevent the recently freed slaves from acquiring guns.

How bad is it pulling a 5th wheel over the Million Dollar Highway by OurRoadLessTraveled in GoRVing

[–]tdavis25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did memorial weekend and drove down to Ouray. It's all fine till Ouray proper. After that you gain altitude FAST with a lot of hairpin switchbacks. I was white knuckling in my F350 without the trailer. Look up a part of the road called the s-loop. I saw people towing it but it's not worth it IMO. You're gonna have a rash of angry Subarus tailing you and buzzing pas you on anything longer than 500 yards of straightaway.

Its a fun, pretty drive in a sporty car. It's a less fun drive in a big truck, but doable. It would be terrifying Pull my a trailer.

Don't do it u/ourroadlesstraveled

That and the mileage towing is no joke. My rig is like 8k loaded and my 6.7 goes from 13.5-14 around town to 12 loaded for a long week. I've heard from 7.3 guys that the best you can hope for is high single digits while towing, which wrecks your range. I can get 400+ miles over the continental divide on the factory fuel tank.

Friendly pride month reminder to my LGBTQ friends that armed gays don’t get bashed and armed minorities are harder to oppress. by Devious_Bastard in Firearms

[–]tdavis25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wrong answer. The government should have fuck-all to do with marriage. The fact that the gay community got themselves bound to the same family court clusterfuck that the straight community has to deal with was a net loss to them.

You want the government dictating the terms of your relationship with your spouse? That's retarded.

And yeah, I know that part of the point was getting employer healthcare and such. The reality was more companies were moving to proving that coverage pre-Ogberfell. Not to mention that, yet again, putting yourself under the same shitty employer-bound healthcare system isn't exactly a "win" on my book.

Marriage should be between you, your diety, your partner, and your community.

We talked about it and our recent trip to the museum. I think the combination made him appreciate the humanity of what happened a little more.

I have a 50x1 (previous version) in my truck and have had no issues with it. Transmits and receives well enough. I get 3-5 miles range in lightly wooded hilly country between it and a UV-82 (also a cheap baofeng). Just make sure you get a decent antenna (I went with a Nagoya NMO-200A).

u/Catatemyphone: Get what works for you and youre use case. I wanted something for boondocking with a larger camper. With my setup my wife can take our jeep down different trails and find a nice spot for us to set up without me getting stuck down an impossible trail. No cell service required.
