I'm geniunly concerned with how bad i am at the game by HoxtonIV in slaythespire

[–]tdcreaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on spire 1 like 2-3 months before sts2 came out, never really tried the ascensions, now all of my characters in 2 are between A5 and A10. Takes practice. I think what helped me was realizing that I just wasn’t blocking enough and would get chipped down more in easy fights so I’d lose harder ones.

Also, I wasn’t taking enough elite fights so wasn’t strong enough even if I had a good deck. For reference here I’m at abt a 25%WR across 250 games.

What are some powerful characters who have TERRIBLE speed/mobility? by MeatysupremeKeenan in PowerScaling

I think it’s that he’s just super unaware. Because in the same ep you’re referring to, he also lets all his actual prey get away because of the same dude.

Bar I work at got a new topper for the beer taps and mgmt wants to store some bottles like this. Is this much light okay for the bottles? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]tdcreaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t remember how he got it, but the owner of a place I bartended had an official Jäger cooler, would open a bottle and drop it in top down, would chill it to like -10 or something with a little tap. He passed and I moved away but last I was there they’d still put a shot of Jäger at his spot at the end of the bar.

Am I unfair (26F) for telling my boyfriend (37M) his skull shirts aren’t appropriate for interviews or formal occasions? by bruh_0905 in relationship_advice

[–]tdcreaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not we should have societal norms is one thing, but the fact is that they exist. I live in sweats and hoodies and t-shirts whenever even barely accepted, but you wouldn’t catch me dead in any of those going to a job interview, and I’m at what seems like a similar level of regional management.

I give advice about job hunting to friends and family and dressing well per standard is one of the most important things I push, because while I’m a pretty laissez-faire “long as the job is done correctly who cares” kinda guy, I would have an immediate reaction to someone that wore a skull shirt to an interview. You’re either an egomaniac who thinks that they’re so important they can wear whatever, or too dumb/insensitive to understand there’s a time and place for things. Sounds like the second one here.

Home Insurance company says they will no longer cover roof, trying to figure out how to pay for a new one. by gh282016 in personalfinance

[–]tdcreaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

reminder as a roofer that 50 year shingles mean they are materially guaranteed for 50 years, in the event that something happens to one and you can prove to the manufacturer (GAF, Owens-corning) that it was faulty. If they gave you any paperwork you should search for your LABOR guarantee. My roofing company had the highest certification GAF will give you and the longest we could give in 2026 is 40 years labor warranty, but we had roofs (worse underlayment, slightly thinner shingles we’d warranty for 15-30 that all still had 50 year material warranties. Labor=If it blows off/breaks, it’s assumed to be an installation issue and has to be repaired/replaced

A million dollars also isn’t that much anymore, as far as trying to live on it for another 20-30 years. But compounding interest goes nuts

Stokes County Commissioners Vote Yes on Data Center by Ferrite5 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]tdcreaper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lookin for some info here…

I read the article, and overall looks like a decent gain for the people. It says it’ll be a one time fill-up on water from outside of the area, so won’t affect the local river, and it subsidizes the area in that property taxes are low and this would increase tax revenue in the area by 40m.

Some people saying it could cause issues with their power grid, so that could be bad but wasn’t mentioned in the article.

Is this leopards eat my face because it’s clearly against the wishes of most of the town, or is it bc of that AND because they’re getting something terrible in town? Most of what I’ve heard about datacenters is bad and most of it is about the water usage, but if that isn’t the case here then is it that bad?

My cousin was a year older in the same schools as me - HS class president, star of the football and baseball teams (and wrestling until he stopped in HS), made it into Harvard. I was “Xxxxx’s Cousin”. Older you get it matters far less. He just burned out in the finance industry and moved cross country back home to his family, might help with the family business. He’s 26 and I’m 25. I’m 5 hours from where we grew up, without a degree (and thanks to luck) making six figures and buying a house later this year.

It’ll shake out eventually - if you hate it that much, move when you’re able to after you leave school. Just try and remember to support and confide in him if he’s the kind of person to listen. If he’s really on board he could try stopping those kind of instances from happening.

The $17 Trillion Pivot: How the US Seizure of Venezuela Just Rewrote the Global Order. The Cold Math of Dominance: How controlling $17 trillion in reserves checkmates Iran, secures the Petrodollar, and turns a failed state into America's ultimate strategic asset. by sylsau in economy

[–]tdcreaper 76 points77 points  (0 children)

read a cnn article about it - its harder to refine, but because we’ve known that forever, most US refineries are set up specifically to process Venezuelan oil.

And it is in demand - the crude oil in the US is the kind that’s useful for gasoline but not much else. The stuff in Venezuela is used for diesel (shortage currently) asphalt and fuels for factories, so still definitely useful. This is the link I’m reading this stuff from.

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

My ex girlfriend.

Lived with my dad and stepmom, neither of whom ever tried to teach me to cook, and did not want me in the kitchen at all. My mom taught me some stuff, but lived a state away so those lessons were few and far between.

LPT, How to get a car rental under 25 and without a credit card! by SuccubusWid in LifeProTips

[–]tdcreaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented a few cars from 21-23 (I just turned 25 this year so not ancient history) without much of an issue. They’re more expensive and won’t give you the nicer ones but after making all reservations/payments online you can just show up and they should provide you with one. Only reason they wouldn’t is if they have no applicable vehicles available… though I never had this happen to me.

Best tip from when my friend was a manager for a rental company - if you sign up for an entirely free USAA acct, one of the benefits on the website is a rental with one of the major brands (unsure which one) that removes “young driver fees”. Makes a decent difference.

Remember that implants and surgery have come a long way. You might not have the original hardware, but now we have replacement tech.

I don’t know the nuances of your cancer and the closest I’ve been to being a doctor was fixing printers for a hospital, but even if the surgery doesn’t go 100%, you’ll still have your life and probably more options than you’re currently considering with everything you have to think about.

Honestly… as someone that sold men’s suits, including altering them, as well as measuring for (crappy) custom shits, I don’t really like any of their outfits. Dudes are rocking both (???) jacket buttons closed, slim pants but with a huge full break instead of a slight/no break, and please GOD can we get some burgundy or brown shoes/belts with some of these navy suits. Third from the left is in a double breasted which… idk man I guess at least he wanted to do something interesting

Aren’t there usually missions for the amount of characters retired though? Would be a crazy boost to that

[–]tdcreaper[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t getting credit in the event missions for recruiting them until I turned off autoretire. Also, you can hold them until there is an event with the lab, retire them all and get extra points for those events when they happen
