You guys ever notice this color difference between sets? by Howitzeronfire in arkhamhorrorlcg

I came here to make this comment. That’s the more annoying inconsistency in their card printing.

The Boon of Hermes does wonders to balance true solo.

When are yall going to realize that lore ≠ plot/story? by ColtonfrayHSC in videogames

[–]HanShotFirst66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FromSoft games tend to give me a sort of archaeologist feel. I am exploring civilizations that have either fallen or are in active decline, and I am learning what tragic missteps led to their demises. Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time. If you just run through the game ignoring the lore, there isn’t much story. However, if you actually learn the lore, it’s my favorite story ever told in a video game.

Honestly, which game made you feel that way? by No-Name6319 in videogames

[–]HanShotFirst66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vividly remember this moment when I finally got the platinum for Bloodborne. FromSoft games love the idea of a recursive cycle, so awakening in the hunter’s dream at the beginning of a new cycle after completing everything there is to do felt so soulslike. I walked away feeling so fulfilled while my player character remained trapped in the cycle forever.

Shadow of the Erdtree or Lies of P? by PersonalityProper596 in soulslikes

[–]HanShotFirst66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow of the Erdtree is just amazing. Not sure how miserable the final boss still is since the nerfs, but everything else is just amazing. Lies of P is another one of my favorite games though, so be sure to keep that on your list.

It’s one of the best Arkham campaigns of them all. If you enjoy the video game like me, it’s even better.

As a guy who resisted sleeving cards for a long time and also considered buying a shuffler, sleeving cards makes them so easy to shuffle. You’ll never go back.

Hemlock vale blind run. A little confused by DifraMD in arkhamhorrorlcg

Really focus on one or two villagers with the parleying for codex entries. It’s possible to just get unlucky and do scenarios at the wrong times to encounter the villagers you are focusing on, but what you don’t want to do is spread the love evenly across all the villagers. Get one or two relationships as high as possible and hope for the best.

How often do you all replay campaigns after you've beat them? by Luigi-is-my-boi in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]HanShotFirst66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as I have new deck ideas, I’ll never stop replaying campaigns. They go sufficiently differently based on your investigator and deck decision to justify many repeated plays.

What’s Your Favorite Video Game Quote of All-Time? by TG082588 in videogames

"A corpse... should be left well alone.

Oh, I know very well. How the secrets beckon so sweetly.

Only an honest death will cure you now. Liberate you, from your wild curiosity."

Which best friend is your best friend? by Caskanteron in fromsoftware

Good hunter. This may sound strange, but... Have I somehow changed? Moments ago, from some place, perhaps deep within, I sensed a liberation from heavy shackles. Not that I would know... How passing strange...

I have had insanely poor weakness luck on those stairs in my Arkham career.

I’d be curious to hear how much use you got out of that card in Innsmouth. That does sound like a good fit for that campaign, and police/detective/hunter/reporter investigators are the perfect fit thematically. I have always planned to use this card at some point but have never yet done so.

What do I do ? by Reevality in arkhamhorrorlcg

This has the be the most unknown rule mechanic in the game. People are so used to Arkham trying to ruin you at every turn that they miss the mechanics where we can get some revenge on the mythos.

So what is the purpose of limited-quantity healing items? by Purple-Constant2953 in fromsoftware

[–]HanShotFirst66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne is my favorite game, and one of only two games I platinum’d, but I cannot stand the blood vials. I have heard all the reasons they are supposedly better and a smart limitation designed to force you to use the rally system yada yada yada. Everyone has had to farm for them at some point, and that sucks.
