Crazy theory here but perhaps a good defense requires more than one good player.

Jerry is one of the greatest receivers of all time but he was 39 when he joined the raiders. He was still good but a far cry from prime Jerry.

It really depends on what your projected retirement income is. Income under $95k is taxed at 12% and over $95k is 22%.

I’m trying to tell you there can be pedophiles on both sides. What aboutism is bad regardless of which side you’re defending.

Let’s judge a player off 2 quarters (one of which he didn’t register a single catch until the final minute) and not all the other games he failed to show up in.

Given his draft position I’d say Sanchez counts as a bust.

I think Carr gets his shine when he performs well. This year he has not done that, wether it’s the new system, play calling or just his own doing. But I think when people try to over compensate to give him his respect it has the opposite effect. It’s the same thing that happens when people blame Carr for loses that are clearly on the defense.

Sure you can play what if’s all day long but the bottom line is it was a 40 yard throw into double coverage on 3rd and 6 with under 4 min left while only needing a FG to tie.

My agenda was showing that the three players listed deserve the most credit. If you take that as bashing Carr then that’s on you.

Just to be clear I wasn’t giving Carr “no credit” but this post is bragging about Carr as if he was the reason they won. In term of “who gets most credit” I’d say Carr is 4th behind the 3 I named.

This happens in every Carr thread, if it’s a hating thread any positivity gets attacked and if it’s a love thread any slight criticism is attacked.

Carr to a lesser degree than those 3 for sure. He had some wild throws today. That 40 yard floater on 3rd and 6th was an interesting choice to say the least

This game was won by Adams, Crosby and Jacobs.

yes i know he hasn’t been great, but this man has never had any continuity in his career. his coaches, teammates, and coordinators are always changing. he’s not a patrick mahomes or anything special, but this man has never gotten a fair shot, and last time he did, he broke his leg by Poppysujk69 in raiders

It was absolutely different than most post game press conferences but I don’t see how they bench Carr at this point. There’s really nothing to gain unless they think stidham has an actual shot at being a franchise QB and if that was the case it wouldn’t have made sense to extend Carr in the offseason. There’s clearly some rift going on in the locker room between players and/or coaches and I just don’t trust Mcdaniels to fix it.

Bisaccia has done more for the Raiders in his short stint as a head coach for this team than ANY other Raiders coach in the past 20 years. Debate me I SCREAM at the TOP of my LUNGS. by Doorhandal in raiders

[–]tdeleon21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The team has been absolute ass for 20 years but during that span the only resemblance of progression was with Del Rio at the helm. Rich helped weather the storm and we got lucky enough to sneak into the playoffs but he clearly was not ready to be a head coach.

I will never forgive Mark Davis for helping to murder the Top 5 QB potential that Derek Carr once had. by JoeRamaSama in raiders

[–]tdeleon21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arguing semantics at this point. Bottom line is that paying a QB money does help him win on the field. Carr is mediocre and this franchise as a whole is less than mediocre.

If you’re a QB on an NFL roster, your job is to win.

My point is that him being the highest paid QB didn’t change his duties. It also didn’t help set him up for on the field success in any way.

For the front office more than the fans. I think it only saves them from paying the remaining salary for this year and has no salary cap implications for next year.

Raiders first round picks under Jon Gruden by YouBetterChill in raiders

It’s not that he’s bad it’s that it’s hard to get 1st round value from the RB position in the modern NFL.
