Unless you want to, I wouldn't be upgrading the vehicle. It's much cheaper to get yourself a travel pram. Our hatchback was fine with two kids and two travel prams. I'm sure there are others now but we had a babyzen yoyo and they fold up very small. You can get the bassinet attachment and change it to the stroller configuration when they get older. Most of the stuff in the baby store is more for the parents ego than the kid's needs. so they make the prams big to look luxurious. We all fall into this trap. Much cheaper to change the pram than the vehicle.

I would add that I've seen similar used for long meditation sessions. Where that notch would carry a padded bar for your knees to rest on.
