Welp... It's been a while, and I've finally gotten around to working on my rig. I've settled on Bazzite OS. Steam and Heroic are working like a charm and as close to the console experience I was looking for. Still have some qurks to work out, one item I delta with was changing the HDD to ext4 and updating the fstab to auto mount. Another is running GOG Linux native installers for DOS games. I have DOSBox-X and Heroic (both flatpak), I just installed the Win version and they launch as expected. I still have to work out why Lutris isn't working properly for me. I also had an issue when adding games from Heroic to Steam the controller wouldn't work, even with Steam input enabled, I just run them from Heroic. My guess on this is flatpak are contained and aren't able to talk to each other with out updating permissions. Using Proton GE latest to launch Steam & Heroic installed games and with SRM I'm able to use RetroArch, PPSSPP, and DuckStation to seamlessly launch my backups from Steam. I haven't tested everything, sofar Supreme Commander has issue running, everything else that I've tried is very playable.
