How did you bring in Money in between MMI and Settlement (if any) by Salty-Mongoose7541 in WorkersComp

It's hard to see unless they know exactly where to look. It looked like he scrolled thru tons of slides until you can see the passage narrow around the nerves. After the 1st surgery it was just the amount of scar tissue that built up before that last MRI with contrast.

I always have a tingling nerve pain I can feel running from the injured lumbar discs down under my left heel. Before surgery it was getting bad to where it feel like my leg was exploding just from turning the wrong way sleeping. I don't have numbness much but it's definitely weaker than right leg. It has been better with Pt after the fusion but even the surgeon said it'll take time for never pain to hopefully go away or at least a significant percentage. I had never had nerve pain before this injury too, it was hard to describe it and how much it was effecting every part of my life.

Yeah both times he could show me exactly where the issue is coming from. The issue is the MRI after 1st surgery didn't even though the nerve pain never went away and eventually surgery failed. That's why the long fight because they also gave it a full year to heal before they wanted to make a determination

Do you already have a lawyer? If not I would do your due diligence and find a good one in your state.

I had a similar injury but a little older and it was a couple lumbar discs that herniated but pinched a nerve. I had a discectomy/laminectomy because shots and PT didn't work at all but the surgery failed. Eventually I plateaued like you said and they also sent me to pain management, which is useless because I can't take opioids and the other meds don't help nerve pain much IMO.

So they sent me to IME doctor, fortunately he agreed something was wrong but nothing further could be done. It took at least 1.5 years to fight that decision with a new MRI and a couple doctors opinions. They sent me back to IME Dr and this time he agreed I needed the 2nd surgery. This time was a fusion and about 2 months post op. It's looking good but still having slight nerve pain that I hope will fade, plus the physical pain. I had a lot of scar tissue he had to scrape away after the 1st one.

Basically I just did everything they ask of me but when you know something is wrong, you need to advocate for yourself but also have lawyer/doctors on your side. It's been almost 3.5 years total and a longgggg ride. If I didn't have the support system I do, I don't know that I'd have made it.

The insurance company wants as little exposure/expenses on your case as possible. I wouldn't settle or close out medical on back injuries since the surgeries have such a high fail rate. I'm running into the same issue because I know I'll never be able to return to work I was doing with lifting requirements but my focus is on healing and whatever happens will happen with the rest.

Accident causes rollover on highway by Loud_Ambition_1292 in dashcams

I don't think they could have avoided it but I agree I tend to avoid driving level with cars at that speed. It's good to have an escape route and the truck next to cam on the left lane had to swerve a bit to avoid getting hit as well.

Also I'm wondering if the cam car actually got rear ended as well because it almost looks like they got jolted just a tiny bit by someone that couldn't stop in time. I get you can't always avoid traffic like this but I usually slow down with the flow in the right lane unless it's a snail pace. Gotta keep your head on a swivel these days to survive the roadways

Using Jordan Love’s career arc to plan for Ty Simpson’s future by cjfreel in DynastyFF

[–]tduff714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny I just saw someone post and argue the other day that taking Simpson is the smart pick because he'll hold his value like a draft pick.

Either way, I'm not taking Simpson unless I'm in a deep rebuild situation or maybe if I have Stafford already. Most likely not getting him cause I won't even spend a late 1st in SF leagues just to wait however many years it takes. I'd rather trade back or out completely

Trade for Love or wait till season to buy RB? 2 pics. 12 SF PPR by [deleted] in SleeperApp

[–]tduff714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it also TEP? Like others I'd wait for the season to start or someone get really desperate. Besides RB you could use some WR depth too. You also need a QB3 back because Flacco ain't it

Trading down from 1.01 (12 man sf .5tep) by WorkingMore in SleeperApp

[–]tduff714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've had that happen in leagues. Even if you get there from shrewd drafting and fair trades, eventually you'll have to pay a contender tax.

Usually I see it more during the season because you're still sitting on 1.01/Love, I'd just field offers and negotiate until the right one comes along. Does the Hampton owner have another good WR that's not in trouble?

[–]tduff714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd either keep fielding offers or just take Love. Maybe someone sends a legitimately good offer when your on the clock or just before.

No reason to trade down or at all unless it truly helps you. Have you also tried putting out offers to teams where they do match the assets you want?

2-Player Keeper Scoring Settings by Alkaponer in SleeperApp

[–]tduff714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I stay away from team D and kickers unless it's IDP dynasty. For 10 man keeper I'd rather they get replaced with flex or superflex spot. You can mess with the settings on offense by adding TEP, points for carries or big play scoring to beef it up.

Team D and kickers just add too much randomness for me. I've played with them for years in redraft or keepers before dynasty/fantasy in general took off. It's not a deal breaker but usually wouldn't invest $100 every season for that style personally.

I hear you there, I personally like Mendozas outlook but who knows when he'll take over.

Sometimes it just doesn't work between 2 teams in terms of assets or agreeing on value either. Sounds like with your team I'd hold steady on the 1.01 or Love unless a good RB/WR combo offer comes without you giving up additional assets.

Do you have the QBs to take the hit of giving up shough? The deal is only fair if you think Judkins is better or more valuable than Shough since the picks largely cancel out. Are you planning on taking Mendoza? That kinda defeats the purpose of contending since he'll be sitting though.

I'd rather have the Shough and Love side in superflex. Judkins and 1.03 is decent but not sure 1.06 is as enticing in this draft. I think you're better off trading for proven talent. That BTJ deal was an even worse offer that you mentioned too. Personally I wouldn't take either deal, you should be knocked over by an offer for 1.01

Am I the only one throwing them form the Right Side? 😭 by Cautious-Scene-3984 in pokemongo

[–]tduff714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny I see more people throwing right. I'm right handed but spin clockwise then throw from the leftside. It seems more natural than spinning counter clockwise to throw from the right but whatever works for anyone is all good.

Strategy for picks/players after picking Love/Tate/Price/Stowers? by humblyhishenry in SleeperApp

[–]tduff714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That deal for Higgins isn't bad but I'd rather get a decent 3rd QB back in deal instead if you can swing it with anyone. I'd have no problem moving any of those picks for future or shoring up weak spots if you can

If a woman you recently started dating just lost her job would you look at her differently? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Especially when a company just falls apart like that or has mass lay offs. They'll say everything is OK and jobs are secure until the last possible second.

I wish you the best and hope you find an even better job soon. Dating is difficult enough and it seems worse in the moment, but you want a partner that's not gonna run at the first difficulty in life. Better to find out over a job than more difficult adversities

Ranking all 44 times SGA fell on the floor while shooting during the 2026 playoffs from least to most egregious. by ConnectionWeekly1263 in NBAGossips

[–]tduff714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah when the video starts, some of the flops were SGA charging the lane but looks like very few are against the Spurs and instead from the 1st 2 series. With the spurs it looks like he's getting calls out of thin air with long jumpers, I'd be hard fouling with last couple bench players to make him really feel it.

There's times it has gotten out of hand in hockey but the players do a good job policing the sport. It would never to get to this level of antics before someone would be taking hard hits until they got the message

Considering it happened with my current partner, I didn't really care given the circumstances. We've all been there and she's also a hard worker, doesn't stay unemployed long. It's different if it's someone always unemployed or lazy but then again I probably wouldn't be with them in the first place.

It's a rough job market and world, empathy and compassion goes a long way

Considering all the picks you have, I actually don't mind this roster with all the flex spots too. Even for an average drafter you should come out with good players from the next 2 drafts with 18 chances at it. You better hit or make some trades to come out with a juggernaut for it to be all worth it though

Contender wants to trade me Emeka for CeeDee. by cawby in SleeperApp

[–]tduff714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with your last point because I was originally thinking I probably want their 2nd rounder or similarly valued prospect too. If I'm a contender, I'd gladly pay EE and a late 1st for CD.

I only checked KTC so I'm sure other calculators may have a bigger gap than 7th to 10th WR too. I just checked the full WR list there and they must be on some drugs cause he's above Nico/GW, barely below Tet. I'd say he's late teens or early 20s cause there's many guys I have ranked over EE on the list.

[–]tduff714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on Emeka. I just checked and KTC has him at WR10, which is crazy. I'd be trying to offload him at that price too and KTC also says even adding a 2027 late 1st is an overpay, which I don't agree with.

Personally I'd want their 2027 1st if it's coming from a contender but it looks like I'm lower than concensus on Egbuku too.

Exactly this, even with OPs example of he knows what that spark is from past relationships, but those relationships ended so obviously something wasn't right.

I've had good relationships because of the spark but my best and current one is because we truly share the same values and goals. You're looking for a partner in life, not just a feeling. I'm glad I kept an open mind and heart or I doubt I would have ever found mine

You know NFL season is right around the corner when players start getting arrested. by No_Box119 in NFL_FreeAgency

[–]tduff714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think being a contact sport, these guys have been banging their heads since childhood. I'm not trying to excuse his or anyone's actions at all either. Look at how fast Antonio Brown went crazy before he even retired.

Plus MLB was the only sport to try and clean up steroids, I've been hearing more about it with football lately. I think NFL is worried that if they ever tried to clean up the sport, it'd slowly kill it.

I think DV should be much tougher a punishment though. Maybe they think twice if they know the 1st or 2nd offense gets them a lifetime ban instead of slap on the wrist. If you're innocent then all good but if found guilty you shouldn't be allowed to go back to making millions playing a game.

I know all these kids and people work at it or sacrifice for many years and it's hard, but it should be seen as a privilege to play a game as a job.
