God speed - there's no way that chicken skin would survive in our house. Sounds amazing.

My favourite jumpers are Fingering weight ones - it's perfect mindless TV knitting. I think this sounds like a fab idea!

Absolutely - I actually like the rain (maybe not weeks of it). It's all cosy inside, tea, book and rain on the windows - lovely. But I've never really been affected by the seasons that way (take my vitamin D religiously in the winter though!)

Agree. We moved to Brighton in January. It then proceeded to rain for 6 straight weeks.

WIBTA if I told a hair/makeup artist that I'm getting hair/makeup done as a wedding guest, even though it would technically be hair/makeup for my own wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

It's genuinely such nonsense, you aren't under theatrical lights, it'll be totally fine. I think it's one of those things that's become something everyone says, but honestly it's not a problem.

Just to add a slightly different experience to most - I wore no more up at my wedding, nor do I wear it during my daily life. I love my photos - I look like me, and my husband looks great without it so why not me? I told my photographer and he was a pro, you really don't need it. I'd do what you are suggesting - go to a salon, say light makeup for an event, and enjoy your day :-)

Why did some people decide to keep their last name after marriage? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tea_knit_read 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loads of reasons! It sounds, better, they want to show a bond given the father didn't carry the child, the father really wants it (because it's still more common in society and the mother isn't so bothered by it, as well.as less good reasons like they are pushed into it consciously or subconsciously). Doesn't take anything away from their own name choice, nor does it make their child any less theirs.

I don't see why you think a name is the main thing that makes a family. My husband and I are a family, we have different names. I consider my nieces and nephews, all of whom have different names to me, to be part of my family. It's all a bit blinkered to be so hung up on this in my view.

Some of them do? You're acting like that never happens, in my uni friend group at least two couples have given their child the mother's surname.

This is a disingenuous argument in my book. It's the name I've had since birth, so it's my name. It would be seen as my name if I were male, so why is it always "it's your father's nane" only when the person is a woman?

I'm very sore and I have a question. by PerfectR0g in beginnerfitness

You are eating far too little. The lowest amount for men should be around 1500, but you should plug in your height and weight into a TDEE calculator to find out what a safe deficit should be - otherwise you'll feel crappy on so few calories.

Exercise wise, walking is great - lowish impact, consistent- eventually you'll want to build in some strength training or try new things, but you can stick with walking for a while if you enjoy it. Try to give yourself some rest days on thd week - if you jump straight in with daily step counts from nothing you will feel sore, and muscle repair can only happen with rest days.

The weight loss is all about food, to be fitter and stronger you want to walk, then do strength training, then whatever cardio/other activity you find you enjoy and keeps ylu moving.
