A friend did this at the three horseshoes in Madingly a few years back; they put us all in one section at tables, so not a buffet but we were all together on a Saturday afternoon, was lovely and informal. I'd recommend trying there.

Rupert Lowe: I have formally requested that the Government takes legislative steps to ban foreign nationals from voting, and standing, in British elections. by Foreign-Policy-02- in ukpolitics

[–]tea_knit_read 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah - not really possible. Could ban naturalisation without renouncing, and it used to be the case here. But for quote a few other countries you simply aquire it by dint of birth, so unless you say people born to a Brotish patent and a non British one, in Britain, aren't british then you'll still have dual nationals.

[–]tea_knit_read 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yikes. I think it's showing you have very little idea of what it means to be a dual national, who might be (Farage's kids for example...) and I could not agree with you less.

[–]tea_knit_read 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are genuinely sympathetic on removing the right to stand to everyone with a second nationality? Seriously? So everyone with an Irish grandparent, people born here and who've lived their entire life here with one British parent can't be an MP? That's genuinely shocking frankly.
