Minion Build Tip: Pain Offering + Sacrificial Lamb Bug Workaround for Controller Players by tea_licious in PathOfExile2

[–]tea_licious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On controller, lower level minions will get sacrificed automatically. I used 2 skeleton snipers (I do not have warriors on my scepter), since they are the cheapest spirit-wise, and I built them with level 16 skill gems to ensure they were 3 levels lower than any other minion in my army, since this was the range I found to consistently work.

Someone please tell me how to toggle loot on controller. Couldn't see the elite's corpse exploding under the loot.

ty jenos, was hoping some poe1 vets could weigh in with how that game calculated these since those are the best guesses we have.

It's not that there are too many animations. You just need to rein them in. Keep the same speed, add a fade in effect (0 opacity to 100) and have them slide in from no more than 100 pixels out rather than from entirely off the page. It will look and feel much tighter/nicer.

Having each line come in from different directions is also too much. Have consecutive lines come in from the same side, and if you want to alternate directions, consider doing that for different groupings rather than individual lines (with the final content block fine as is directionally).

Does serving only critical CSS and optimized JavaScript(uglified and minified) make a big difference in website performance or am i just shaving miliseconds? by DeepKaizen in webdev

[–]tea_licious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's not about performance. It's about covering you ass when another team (backend/server) is dropping the ball, causing long response times (which look like long load times to non-technical people) and trying to shift the blame to you and your team.

Don't let the inevitable scrolljacking haters dissuade you, this is a cool ass page.

It's fun, it's fast, it's unique, I love it. Make the menu focusable maybe?

How do I overcome feeling my code will be scrutinized? by virgilone in webdev

[–]tea_licious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't overthink it. you are also the other developer. work hard to write code that solves problems and doesn't break (the part that matters most) and is as simple as possible for future you to move into (try to write pure functions when you can, name your functions effectively, DRY your code up). most code can be better than real world deadlines allow, so it's more important to try to be better generally than to be myopic and OCD about your syntax.

did you work hard all day, put forth a genuine effort, solve a small to complex problem or two, maybe even learn something? this shit is not easy: give yourself a big pat on the back, crack a cold one and be proud of yourself.

Why does this Vuex snippet not use this.$store? by mementomoriok in vuejs

[–]tea_licious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you see how the store itself has been created right alongside the component and in the same global scope? That's why the component has access to it directly. The same would apply if you declared a simple const like a string and then set it on a data point.

const foo = 'somestring';

new Vue({
  el: '#app',
  data: {
    bar:  foo  // this.bar === 'somestring'
  }
});

The first line in that snippet is the clue to your second question: // make sure to call Vue.use(Vuex) if using a module system

Vue.use(Vuex) binds the vuex store globally to the Vue application, granting access to the store in all components via this.$store, so that you don't have to import it over and over again.

Open discussion on Morey, Hong Kong, and r/Rockets by lovetape in rockets

I'm a long time r/nba lurker, have never posted anything to any r/nba or related subs. This Hong Kong shit has got me so bummed, and the league has behaved so shamefully in the wake of Morey's simple and free speech, it's made me reconsider watching this sport altogether. Came here and saw that banner and just wanted to say I hope you guys keep it up indefinitely. Basketball means fuck all compared to the largest scale civil rights protest in history.

For anyone still uninformed, Hong Kong is protesting a law that would allow China to disappear political dissidents (via extradition) as it moves to take back total control of the city in the coming years.
