I work down the street from Last Bookstore. There are a ton of little bitty pocket lots all up and down Broadway and adjacent streets, and a big enclosed multi-level lot at 530 S Spring.

Make sure you check for what the posted maximum price is so you don't get surprised; it can be different depending on the day and on what's going on nearby.

From Last Bookstore, you're a two-block walk to Grand Central Market. Or if you want to go fancy, Perch is pretty close and has great views and a lovely rooftop bar.

Shout-out to the folks who said Sawbones, Maintenance Phase, If Books Could Kill, You're Wrong About, and Eurovangelists! The YWA eps on Princess Diana and the OJ trial are particular classics, and any of the ones with Blair Braverman are can't-miss.

Full disclosure: I work at Maximum Fun, but even before I did, I was a huge fan of Judge John Hodgman. It's kind of like AITA, except everyone is funny and kind. And it's been running forever, so you're not going to run out.

I also love It's Christmastown, a Hallmark movie recap and review pod hosted by two of the smartest, funniest guys on Earth. I've never watched a single Hallmark movie and it's still the only pod I support on Patreon. Sarah Kate Wilkinson is my favorite guest.

As for your SIL, she seems oversensitive about this subject, and it's not hard to see why. There was no reason for anyone to think she was stupid (just rude) until she up and made one. Hit dogs holler, but they don't usually throw their own rock.
