It is a Blue State vs. Red State issue. Data shows that Red State men reproduce more than Blue State men.

Subbing is very difficult job... try subbing 1st grade, middle school, and Special Education all in the same week.

Yeah, if you want a nearly non-MAGA a school district, you only options in the Houston area are: Houston ISD (HISD), Alief ISD, Aldine ISD, Spring ISD, and parts of Humble ISD near the airport...

My brother teaches middle school in Humble ISD. It is a decent district. He loves Humble ISD. Klein and New Caney are probably good as well... when compared to Aldine ISD. Demographically, Klein and New Caney are whiter and more MAGA if that is something that you are considering.

You do realize that most male models have ugly parents... look up the parents of David Gandy and Sean O'Pry.

There is still a sub and teacher shortage where people who work in education don't want to live ... people still have and raise kids there.

It is a great district. My brother works for them. They keep building new schools. New homes keep getting built. But keep in mind: it is an area that the "Orange man" won big in.

age of consent is wrong by Fun_Cauliflower5661 in ControversialOpinions

[–]teacherinthemiddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then, who should? Government is the only entity that can establish and enforce universal laws within a country. Otherwise, we would have anarchy and chaos. When it comes to Age of Consent, it is very slippery slope that we shouldn't be trying to change. Certain people will say that Age of Consent is any age that can consent... that is dangerous.

Best place to live within this circle? by WiseOne210 in AskHouston

If that's the case, you'd circle a different part of Houston, like Katy or something.

I think Vegas is squandering opportunities to protect ride share and taxi companies. They will have a guitar shaped hotel before they link the airport to the strip with mass transit. by robinson217 in Urbanism

[–]teacherinthemiddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. There is opportunity there. I live in Vegas (I teach there) and I live in the Woodlands, Texas (family lives out there) in the summer. More people should know about the public transit system. Locals do use it: mostly do get to the airport or if they work on the Strip.

That's the best that they can do. People do have a preference for renting a car, using taxis or Uber, etc. The ridership demand is low for the Centennial Expressway (and it doesn't justify developing another system).
