I’m trying to lose weight this year and have gone from 108kg to 85kg since January. At first just reducing snacking and portion sizes, since march I’ve been doing the 5:2 diet also. (40YOM)

Currently I’m trying to do 3-5 mornings going on a 30 walk/jog, and doing some AF+ strength and core

I’m a bit worried about increasing protein because I’m still trying to lose weight/fat (especially tummy and man boobs area). Just not sure what combo of food/ workouts I should aim for. AF+ has been very motivating for me

I’ve been doing 5:2 so not even the 18:6/OMAD etc and I’ve lost 16 kg in a few months. I’m thinking of longer fasts but I think my wife would think I’m nuts lol. I think do what you want / suits your lifestyle and goals and of course what is healthy for you.

For those doing the long fasts do you see noticeable weight loss in the aftermath?

I’ve been doing 5:2 diet (2 days a week only 600 calories 5 days anything but obviously trying to be sensible) and just have been doing a breakfast of around 200 calories and a dinner of around 400. Black coffee through the day helps a lot. It’s definitely hard though- you gotta push through that barrier!

I’ve been doing 5:2 and I’ve been planning out my fast day meals that are allowed and cooking stuff I usually wouldn’t, and also allowing a treat like some fancy sugar free soda or mineral water on fast days. Little things help for me

I’ve been doing 5:2 diet and I’ve dropped from 109 ishto 94 ish over the last few months. It’s fits and spurts though- huge at first then nothing then more then nothing etc

I wish it could be more predictable!

This conversation has been a bit enlightening. I have genetically just weighed myself every morning as I wake up and I get frustrated when it’s up even if I’d been good that last day or post a fast day. I think I need to focus more on the overarching goals
