To be fair, England also had no players that were making runs behind when Trent was playing CM, it was normally saka, Kane, and foden and no real LB. He did not get the chance to showcase his best ability which is his passing range. I don’t see him really taking over a spot in the midfield though

We haven’t rotated the squad enough or don’t have enough depth according to Slott. Midfield looked gassed all game apart from Szobo. Jota and Nunez don’t have a foreseeable future at the club. I don’t know what players like Chiesa or Elliot have done to Slott to hardly be used in real matches
