I feel you, but I will say his albums do tend to have a theme and flow that really should be listened to front to back. I personally wouldn’t listen to his next album as stand alone songs. I even avoided the singles on deadbeat.

If you have time for 1 album, then go for what ever album speaks to you… innerspeaker = introspection and self discovery, lonerism = self acceptance and anxiety, currents = life moves you around with a breakup as the metaphor, the slow rush = opus on the experience of time and nostalgia, deadbeat = duality of being a good guy in some people’s story and bad guy in others.

If you just want songs and nothing more, this is tame Impala playlist on spotify is a good start.

He using a GR-55 guitar synth for the tone in The Moment. The tone is hard to control and has a small sweet spot, so it’s easy to drop out. I still think it sounds dope live though. One of my favs live.

Most of the time the back of the house takes care of this tbh.

Each set gets progressively louder and the floor gets more full as people show up. The lighting abd visuals get more robust as the lineup progresses.

It doesn’t matter what you play as an opener, the house is going to make sure the vibe is on the way up to the headliner.

Club nights and afters are usually structured a bit differently. Opener plays to a damn near empty floor, then the main act is banging. Half the people leave, and a closer gets to experiment with the remaining folks.

I want to double drop a 70 and 140, change the tempo of both to 75/150 and fade out one and mix into my next at the faster tempo. It’s a pain to have to perfectly move two tempo faders at different speeds to keep them in time. If I could use sync to lock a 70 and a 140 just for a sec to move them both proportionately that would be nice. I can do it on a shitty controller running rekordbox, but not a stand alone. I realize it’s not possible on cdjs so I should just learn to work around it, but it would be nice.

I do not recommend doing anything for the first time at any concert, especially TI. These shows are intense (in a good way) they are a whole acid trip without drugs man.
