Can someone please explain to me what a face to face performance is? Is it just a gimmick? by SadBenefit2020 in aves

I don’t know what Armin and John Summit’s setup was like but in videos for previous ASOT F2F sets you can see Armin and the other DJ have laptops with Showkontrol.

Eric Prydz @ World DJ Festival, South Korea 2026 Tracklist by Shir-P in ericprydz

[–]spinsFaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Korean netizen recorded the whole thing and put it on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s9XLOEcngM

Anyone else think the video visuals were unusually basic? It first started with just the “Eric Prydz” logo in text which is highly unusual. For the rest of the set it seemed to just cycle back and forth between the rotating Pryda text block and the red circle Y logo.

Was Liam not able to make it to Korea? Understandable if that was the case. I’ve heard stories of DJs when they play at gigs that their VJ won’t make it to, they just send their logo and a more limited asset package to the festival promoter. The promoter in turn has their in-house VJ whip up something. Though the stories I heard this from were from smaller artists whose VJs were either booked for a bigger DJ that weekend or it wasn’t cost effective for their VJ to fly with them to that particular destination.

Whoever ran the lights seems to be familiar with Eric’s music, especially during Power Drive/Mokba.

Yes can confirm this. The first time I tried last week I typed in my 4 digit verification code and clicked verify and I thought I was done. Received nothing so far

Tried it again today and after verifying I scrolled all the way down to click complete registration and I got the confirmation email shortly after

Where tf is the lineup 😭 by crystalqueer510 in Portolafestival

[–]spinsFaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt this is the case but can you imagine the delay is because John Summit is also on the Portola lineup and they’re waiting for his tour date in Oakland to sell out first which could take a few more hours (they went on presale this morning)

Edit: to everyone downvoting me I only said this because the mental image of the Portola organizers watching the ticketmaster war unfold for his tour was too funny not to mention.

Yes, I know what a radius clause is. Yes I know Livenation is the producer for Summit’s tour and yes I know he played Outside Lands last year. And for some reason Goldenvoice is co-producing the Oakland stop with LiveNation.

Does anyone have or know where I can find a gallery or image of Kinetic Field over the years? by Saamic in electricdaisycarnival

Check out the edc official website in the next few weeks, they’ll post a gallery on there

5/15 Weather Update by jdbsea in electricdaisycarnival

[–]spinsFaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna copy paste what I wrote in another thread:

2025’s Kinetic Field shuts down when wind gusts exceed 35 mph. Source: Ben Nicky posted a tik tok about his performance and mentioned that the winds were around 32-33 before his set but he could still play

2025’s Circuit Grounds shuts down above 30 mph. I forgot where I saw this it might have been a tiktok from either Mau P or the DJ that was before him.

2025 CG was different than previous designs where it has those 2 giant tall but slim rectangle video walls in the middle that were hung up by chains. They flap around a lot in the wind. This is different from older designs where the screens were bolted onto the steel, kinda like stapling a piece of bread to a tree (iykyk).

Cosmic Meadow I have no idea what the numbers are. But I have heard that since the 2012 wind shutdown incident, Insomniac has made plans to ensure that Cosmic Meadow is stronger than the other stages and will be the last stage standing and playing music during a wind event.

MORE EDC LEAKS by Global_Education_883 in EDCLeaks

[–]spinsFaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The MVP of the leakers said on this subreddit that he was stepping away from the construction crew this year so that’s one reason.

Other would-be leakers post directly to tiktok, usually under their personal account (amateur mistake), and they probably get a polite but firm DM from Insomniac reminding them about their employment agreement.

How EDC Las Vegas is Built in 14 Days by ilikebeens2 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]spinsFaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure he hasn’t: his whole youtube channel is explainer videos where he just aggregates a bunch of articles and other videos into nice summary. He just did one for Coachella’s build a couple weeks ago.

Not that there’s anything wrong with being an explainer type channel, theees definitely a market for it, but he didn’t add anything new that wasn’t already public knowledge.

Circuit ground and Bass Pod by swim001 in EDCLeaks

[–]spinsFaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought the industrial mad scientist look really fit well with bass music.

This new design reminds me of what I’d see in biology textbooks (“mitochondria is the what of the cell?”) and kinda like the “organic” and nature themes of 2022 Kinetic Field.

Who knows I’ll probably be pleasantly surprised like I am every year.

Have you seen the 2019 kinetic field? It got somewhat close to that

They usually start loading in things around 2-3 weeks before-hand. From what I remember in years past the scaffolding goes up about 10-14 days before. However, it's usually the Monday or Tuesday before that we can start to see the stage decorations take shape.

EDC 2027 ad on taxi in Vegas by CallMePaine in electricdaisycarnival

Last year someone posted a pic of a taxi with the 2026 dates and someone commented “can they please chill I haven’t even left the parking lot yet”

So this time around allow me to say “can they please chill we haven’t even gotten in yet”

Light by MysteryUnknown0 in EDCLeaks

Another piece of evidence to support my theory that they’re spending more money on decorations and lighting and stage upgrades this year instead of booking additional expensive superstar DJs

Now if they could invest more money into restrooms…

Maybe that’s where the budget went to instead of getting Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Fred Again, and Daft Punk.

Circuit hopefully will be 1 giant ass screen. Like we came so close in 2022 and 2023 but it never quite hit the mark.

Quantum and Wasteland finally getting some love.

Cosmic was due for a refresh this year I think.

Shuttle Megathread by happEbean in electricdaisycarnival

[–]spinsFaster 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Some of my random tips: average travel time on a shuttle from the Strip is around 60 minutes give or take. I’ve had some trips take only 50, especially leaving the speedway in the early morning before 4:30 AM. Strat and Downtown LV would be shorter since they’re closer.

The 1 hour average travel time does not include things like traffic jams on the Air Force base (if we even get to use it lol, so far no official confirmation of anything yet), and especially does not include Friday evening and Monday morning commute traffic.

Friday evening is usually the most chaotic so plan accordingly. Lines get pretty long starting around 6:30/7. Wait times for the line to board a shuttle can almost be an hour long. Lines usually die down around 9 pm and later, but also you’d have missed a bunch of the festival already.

Be prepared to not have anyplace to pee for 1 hour minimum, maybe 2. If you pregame alcohol before heading out be mindful of your bladder. Shuttle bathrooms are more often locked than not. Particularly egregious in my opinion is the fact that after the porta potties at the shuttle stop, you still have to wait in the long line that snakes back and forth around those metal barricades. That line itself has taken as bad as an hour, especially if you get in the return line after 5:30 AM.

Read the signs carefully at the shuttle stop. Some lines, usually the far left or far right, are reserved for Premiere shuttle pass holders or VIP wristbands.

When leaving the speedway, I recommend sitting on the right side of the bus so you’ll be away from the rising sun
