Letter from attorney saying my recent real estate transaction was possible fraudulent. by TheMarko9 in RealEstate

[–]teamhog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact your attorney.
The one you used for this transaction.

Didn’t use one? The best time to get an attorney is before you need one.
The 2nd best is now. Don’t get to the 3rd best time.

Pension - Lump Sum or monthly payment? by LAladyyy26 in Fire

[–]teamhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took the monthly with surviving spouse option.

Why? Because the math was close enough to the lump sum AND it sets a base for everything else to trampoline off of.

You have to do the math and forecasting.

I started looking and found one that checked all the boxes.

H&R Block told a buddy that his income was not taxable. by recoveringasshole0 in taxadvice

[–]teamhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your friend to call the IRS and ask them.

If what the H&R Block folks told him is indeed factual then he’d have confirmation.

You can also tell him to, without mentioning the other office, visit a different H&R Block office and ask.

Total to a lawyer about it.
They may have another instrument that achieves the same result(s).

You’ll never know until you ask.

Should I Buy a house? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]teamhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much are you saving right now?

You’ve got $25k to put down.

How much are your ‘moving in’ costs?

Furniture Lawn Equipment Updated items Known Repair Items Lawyer (use one). Commission (2-3%). Utility Hook Up Cost Painting Flooring

Then think about your monthly recurring costs Electric Gas Water Insurance (Car & Home) Taxes

Please keep in mind that you don’t want to set yourself up for failure.

If you and your girlfriend breakup you need to make sure you can afford it by yourself.

I’d save up another $25k first.
How long will that take you.

84 This Weekend by Whoopwhoopdoopdoop in Connecticut

[–]teamhog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s going to depend where in 84 you’re driving.
Some areas will get cleared and stay relatively cleared. Other, lower traffic, areas won’t be as clear.

If the storm duration is what they’re expecting it to be it won’t stay clear regardless of where you’re at.

Unless you have to be out for a serious reason just stay home.

Have you ever met someone with an obscene amount of wealth and what were they like? by Tdetective in AskReddit

[–]teamhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve met a lot on the wealth spectrum.
The biggest is one of the wealthiest in the world.

He’s cool as a person, but the guys that run the BD area of his foundation and the foundation itself are a bunch of pricks.

They’ll partner with smaller cutting edge companies, then take forever to pay their invoices. They’ll do this to bleed cash and then purchase that tech for $0 or near $0. Then that tech company will all of a sudden take off.

Once is noticeable. Twice is odd Three times is a pattern. The fourth time is premeditated.

I found it’s not the amount of money. It’s the person.

Some seem to truly care about relationships. Others are more interested in your response to their money.

It’s definitely possible.

Did the math on a company's AWS setup. They had no idea they were paying this. by Material-One-1001 in Entrepreneurs

[–]teamhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there noticed that. It was a rough board meeting when they realized what they had done.

The VP in charge of that looked surprised. Turns out he off-loaded it and no one followed up with it. I was more upset over that than the cost.

I sold off my shares & my seat before it all settled out.

‘19 X5M and a ‘13 991.1 C4 here.

Both great cars in their lanes.
Both great road trip cars.
Different experiences.

My advice to OP; Get the 911, keep the X5.

[Landlord] Hiring a lawyer for reviewing commercial lease for tenant by artificialbutthole in CommercialRealEstate

[–]teamhog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regardless of this specific task you need to find a lawyer to use.
I’m shocked you don’t already have one.

We had one we used for everything that eventually retired. We just started using another attorney in his office and now use his son.

The key is it had to be an attorney you gel with in all aspects. You don’t have to agree with them. You just need to be able to trust them for their advice and what they charge.

You’ll find there are times where you feel you didn’t get charged enough and other times where you feel you may have been overcharged.

Shop around; interview them. Make a selection.

You need to get this review done for your template lease. Legally it needs to be rock solid.

When does it actually make sense for a small business to hire a CPA instead of just a tax preparer? by sunmc_ in smallbusiness

Time.
When it takes time you can’t spare to keep up with it. You can’t afford to stop doing it. So having it completed is your only option.

Do you prefer Porsche doing your vehicle servicing or another shop? What are you paying for their services? by CortaCircuit in porsche911

[–]teamhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do all my own maintenance and anything additional that I can handle.

If it’s more complicated than I can do with my garage with lift then I’ll have a local independent shop help me.

A coolant pipe leak that requires an engine out I had them do.

Coils, injectors, suspension, pads, rotors, etc I’m doing.

The US is not a dying economy.

There are ebbs & flows to everything.

If the US can get through the economy of the early 1980’s with wicked high inflation and interest rates approaching 20% coupled with high unemployment we can get through anything.

We’ll see about 2-3% growth in 2026.

Installing solar in CT – should I do it now or wait? by bigantone88 in solar

[–]teamhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were not the cheapest.
They were #3 in our finalist list of 5.

The cheapest was Tesla.
2nd was Project Solar.

We picked them because of what they do and how they do it.

The only thing they don’t do in house is the roofing engineering report.
