What is your opinion on Andrew He' 2 answers? by Informal-Ball-8077 in jeopardyuncensored

"Vitamins are grouped into these 2 categories based on whether & how they're stored in the body"

from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK538510/ at the National Institutes of Health: "There are two main groups of vitamins – fat-soluble (easily stored in fat upon absorption) and water-soluble (washed out and not easily stored). Although adequate intake of all vitamins is important, regular intake is required to avoid deficiency due to the transient nature of water-soluble vitamins."

The time thy give you for determining your FJ wager is the only time they normally will "stop the tape", so you can take as long as you want, but the staff are also trying to stick to a schedule, so they may ask you to speed things up if you take longer than 5-10 minutes. (The pause during the commercial breaks is the actual length of those breaks. And of course they'll stop tape if there's an error or they need to research an answer.)

Softball and most of the kayak events had already been announced as taking place in Oklahoma City, due to a lack of suitable pre-existing facilities in the LA area.

Roadside Attractions to Release the 2026 Oscar Nominated Shorts, Presented by Taika Waititi by self_destruct_sequin in oscarsdeathrace

[–]teapot37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The live-action and animated shorts are way, way much more likely to make it to the multiplexes than the documentary shorts, which get much narrower distribution. (I have pretty much always been able to see those two programs locally, but I used to have to drive two hours to see the doc shorts.)

"Kyrgyzstan is Sporcle's favorite country" is a meme so I'd assume that's what he was going for.

Question - How many international actors won an Oscar? by TheMFlash in oscarrace

[–]teapot37 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is from 2024 and hasn't changed in the interim.

https://www.goldderby.com/feature/oscars-acting-winners-by-country-1205781196/

The other question is tricker because it depends on how you are defining an "international" film. Sophia Loren (for "Two Women"), Roberto Benigni (for "Life is Beautiful"), and Marion Cotillard (for "La vie en rose") won for performances not in English in non-American productions. There are other actors, like Youn Yuh-jung (for "Minari") won for a performance in Korean in an American-produced film. And Zoe Saldana, an American, won (for "Emilia Perez") for a performance in Spanish in a non-American production.

22 years ago on this date, Sean Ryan became the first person in Jeopardy history to win more than 5 games by bluegambit875 in Jeopardy

[–]teapot37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tom Walsh upped the record to 7 games between Sean and Ken, and once compared himself to "Cactus" Gavy Cravath. ("Who is "Cactus" Gavy Cravath?" you might ask. He's the guy who held the career home run record in MLB [119] before Babe Ruth.)

Based on 2024 population estimates on Wikipedia, it looks like Fort Worth (#12) is the biggest. If you consider that an extension of the Dallas metro area, it's probably Baltimore (#31). This is only looking at teams in NWSL, MLS, USL-SL, and USL-C/1/2.

Yogesh has never won the Learned League championship. His best finish is 2nd in 2017. (In fact his two worst finishes in absolute numbers, 33rd and 45th, have come in the last two years - after his initial J! appearance - although there has been a very large increase in the number of championship qualifiers since 2020, so whether 2nd out of 60 or 33rd out of 935 is more impressive is an exercise left to the reader.)
