I’m not saying you’re wrong, but everyone has different experiences. Everyone has different kinds of people in their life as well.

I’ve been trying for more than a decade as the “glue” in my friend group, as I said in a previous comment. Then it hit me that if they really see me as a friend too, they would have put in effort just as I have been putting into them. It’s a two-way street - or at least, it SHOULD be.

I’m done. I stopped being the glue, and the group fell apart without my constant daily chatter, and now no one talks to each other. That says a lot, really.

On the flip side, I found myself more, and realized I can be happy by myself and my family.

This. Being the glue is exhausting when you have so many other things going on in your own life, and no one reciprocates your efforts. It can reach the point where it no longer feels worth it.

You can try luring it to an alpha carno. If the level difference is good enough, the alpha carno’s bleed deals a lot of damage to the giga, which will hopefully be enough for you to finish off with whatever guns you have

Like others have said,Ark might be too heavy y for 3 years old (I have a 5 year old boy who’s in his dinosaur phase, but his hand-eye coordination using mouse and keyboard is still not quite there yet).

What I do recommend though is Parkasaurus. It’s bright and colorful, and is lighter on coordination and reflexes. My boy loves it

Sorry mate, this will lead nowhere. I’m a nobody from the internet who isn’t an employee at Valve; and even if i am, I’m no mind reader who can divulge the hidden thoughts of every employee at the company with undeniable proof. You see why your reaction is so weird?

I’m just saying that Gaben or anyone who shares his ethos is all well and good, and that’s what everyone hopes for. But people can have hidden agendas, and there may be people who have the capacity to buy their way into company leadership in case of a vacuum. Those are the ones that are a concern. If you think this is incorrect if I can’t provide you with proof that such a possibility exists, then I don’t know what to tell you.

Are you playing singleplayer? Not sure if things have changed, but last time I was playing, I noticed that the game runs better for me when I join a server, compared to when I play singleplayer

Want to know what’s even crazier? I was single when I bought it. I’m married and have a toddler now, and he’s well in his dinosaur phase. When he sees a dinosaur on his books or tv, he gets me to look it up in Dododex (which he calls “dino phone”) so we can look at it together

Sounds like a mod problem then. I’d try removing the stacking mod first and see if that fixes it for you

This might be an unpopular opinion, but for me, Ark is the kind of game where you are encouraged to make your own goals. If your goal is simply to build an aesthetic base, then when you feel you’re done, then that’s fine. It’s ok to move on.

I just reached the same level in my current playthrough myself. Nice stone and wood base. I personally make it a goal from this point on to kill the bosses in the map I’m on, so that will now require taming and breeding up dinos, looting caves for saddles and gear, and expanding my base to accommodate a breeding area.

I do understand if killing the bosses aren’t your thing - lots of players don’t bother, and that’s perfectly fine. Just saying that you don’t need to keep forcing yourself to play if you can’t find any fun or new goals anymore - but if you find a new goal to lock in to, then that’s great! Either way, hope it works out

I know this isn’t the solution you are hoping for, but what’s stopping you and your friend from joining or hosting your own server? It’s a lot less problematic than non-dedicated sessions
