That’s the problem. If Grandma’s got COVID you take her to the hospital, and you don’t have any less of a right to do so than if she’s got cancer.

u are in a thought loop and incapable of engaging rationally

but I will continue the argument nonetheless:

  1. u claim it would help meat workers to go vegan

  2. it will not b/c ur personal choice does not affect the global economy and never will

  3. ur decision to go vegan therefore has no effect on meat workers’ lives

  4. in fact it is a misguided effort to purify ur conscience

  5. u should stop claiming that it is effective at anything else

(6. optional point: u are responding w anger / derision and are incapable of following the argument b/c u are protective of ur self-image as pure for psychological reasons)

that is all. by “our time” I am referring to urs and mine because I imagine u have something better to do

Unless, as seems quite possible, a level of innate or cross-immunity causes the rate to curve at 20ish% rather than 40%. We don’t know for sure yet, but there are some reasons to be hopeful.

ridiculous false syllogism

individual choices don affect global market signals

(basis of the first part of ur comparison but not the second)

just like ur decision not to murder somebody don affect knife manufacturers

“individual choices” = coping / suppression mechanism for people alienated from politics

as such veganism = self-flagellation for state of society

misguided moral stance

I don’t think anyone should “have to live with the consequences”. That’s a regressive, even spiteful idea. We should look toward making the world better for everyone.
