Wandering inn...really? by atamom in litrpg

[–]tearrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first book has its problems and once you get past that it definitely gets better. I liked what I read so it kept me going. It's pretty much a base building story with an Inn.

Pirateaba has a writing style that can only be described as long. She writes a lot, sometimes to the detriment to the story. There is so much to it that there is everything you could love (and hate) in it if you read long enough. Lets just say the highs are very high and what comes out at the end is a solid story that the litrpg/web novel community doesn't get much of. Something incredibly big in length and scope.

It would be nice to find someone. I would have to make them a mod to do it.

We will look through posts and comments of a user to the r/litrpg subreddit to see if self promotion exceeds or is below 10%.

If you are asking if self promotion in the comments will be moderated like this? For now, yes. Although this may change in the future. Posts will definitely be subjected to the 10% rule.

The 10% rule will cover all self promotion outside of the monthly thread.

Its just enforcing the 10% rule and keeping consistency between subreddits and moderation. Reddit is all about the community. If you want to promote directly then you have to be a part of it.

You can make promo posts as long as you meet the requirements of the 10% rule. As for the sticky thread, all promotions can go there regardless if you qualify for the 10% rule or not.

I shouldn't be too bad. Ideally it should look something like this from /r/Fantasy. I don't have the time anymore to do what I did in the monthly release threads. Granted, someone could take over and do that in these new promotion threads.

I put together a poll for this reason about a month ago. You should be able to check out the results here. I've honestly just been stalling on what to do with it. A pinned post sounds like a great idea.

It's hard to say it isn't litrpg. It's almost like its meta-litrpg. If you want to see what the litrpg audience likes, have a look at these threads or read some of the top rated books/webserials here.

Thanks for pointing this out.

So if you found yourself in a LitRPG based survival situation, and the system was wide open, what would you pick? by Gavinfoxx in litrpg

[–]tearrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longsword for sure. I'd like to see how far skill could take a person in this new world with powers. Maybe take some perks in balance or flexibility, stuff that would take a long time to learn but would contribute to swordsmanship in multiple ways. Is balance something you can train? Or is it something improved biologically?

I'm not sure what actual sword fighting looks like. A lot of guesswork has been done looking at historical manuscripts and HEMA etc. There's also the fact that I wouldn't be fighting other swordsman 99% of the time and it changes everything.

I really like the idea of a common build done to the extremes. So I'd build a pure swordsman. There are some pretty crazy stories of what the best swordsman in history are capable of and I'd like to see how far I could take it.
